The first thing that I wasn't pleased with was the fact that I had been on the road driving for 8 hours and upon arrival to this hotel there were no available parking spaces for me to park. There was an 18 wheeler truck that took up about 8-10 spaces and the hotel simply could not accommodate all of its guests. Secondly, upon entering the lobby there were 2 front desk staff members who kept me waiting for 3-4 minutes before asking how they could assist me. It looked as if one of them were a trainee, but the trainer should have acknowledged that I was standing there by saying "I'll be right with you." One of the main reasons I chose this particular hotel was that is stated that there was a restaurant on site, however upon checking in learned that there was no restaurant at this location. This is false advertisement! If there's no restaurant on site that information needs to be removed from this particular hotel's website. The breakfast, however was delicious, but being that I was visiting from out of town I would have liked to order lunch and/or dinner without having to drive off-site to a restaurant. Had I not been mobile I really would have been upset. The cleaning staff was amazing! Unfortunately I will not be returning to this hotel.
Much Better at The Fahrenheit. I kept ordering food after I finished one dish. It was very good and priced affordably. Absolutely friendly. Great DJ, Live Music and Excellent Bar! They definitely serve alcohol and the staff is exceptional!
The wait was long, but well worth it. The girls working the reception area were nice. Our server was absolutely the best, very helpful and patient. The food was outstanding.
Great Food, Drinks, Ambience, and of course Live Music! Will be returning soon!
Poor customer service, notably from the newer, younger guy with all of the bracelets on his wrists and a flag hanging from his pocket - is that a thing? Is that sanitary at a coffee shop?I had hoped that this coffeeshop would do well since its been there so long - 10 years I believe. But when you walk in and the young guy at the counter doesn't speak to you and you are the only customer - then something is seriously wrong with their customer service. I have watched him have issues with customers in the morning, and then when the owner walks in, he presents the issue to the owner as if the customer was at fault. Crazy. As a foodie and a coffee snob, I would recommend that you try Revelator or Drip. I like Revelator for their minimalist vibe. I also love Drip and the people there are at lot nicer than the Urban Grind. :) Condessa was nice also - I visited their location which is closer to Georgia State University.By the way, I have frequented the Urban Grind for 10 years. And some of the reviews listed here are correct. The Urban Grind can be cozy. But customer service and cleanliness are issues if you really look behind that counter when certain baristas are working. The OGs are nice for the most part. This shop is past its prime and has become more of an event space than a place where you go and enjoy coffee. What's good about the Urban Grind: Going on a slow day and sitting towards the back in one of the new high top seats and staring out the window and letting time pass by.So although service is piss poor -notably with the newer guy - the Urban Grind does have some good features.
You could have had a V-8. The Urban Grind is a coffeeshop turned event space past its prime and unable to keep up with growth of West Midtown. New bratty barista in the mornings takes the ambiance away from what was a nice compliment to the nationally known coffeeshop down the street. Its not the place for coffee, but they do have good events. Old achool staff are nice. New staff need their diaper changed. Drip and Revelator are better choices for tgose who enjoy the essence of a coffeeshop. Check food inspection numbers at the Urban Grind and the last time they has an inspection.
Spent a birthday wknd in Atlanta with 5 of my close friends/sisters. We were told this place had great food by our hotel concierge. The food was good....but that was the ONLY thing we somewhat enjoyed. Service was HORRIBLE with the exception of the young man who filled our waters and served our cocktails, Kevin.Cocktails took forever and then came to the table wrong....TWICE.From the time we ordered our entrees to the time they hit our table was an HOUR! (I know this b/c I had been texting while we were ordering and, once we grew tired of waiting, I kept track of when we were finally served.)I had to call our server to our table several times for several issue....each time I was polite and we were patient....probably TOO patient...and his responses were always rude! Once he saw us signaling for a manager to come over, he came right to our table, asked if we needed anything and the, when I went to answer him, he rudely interrupted and then talked over me as if he were annoyed that we were disappointed that our drinks & meals had not been served promptly and our orders were incorrect. Never once did he offer any kind of apology. We did finally speak to a manager and he offered a round of drinks for the table.....and those took another 20 minutes to arrive. (not exaggerating....it became a bit of a "not so funny joke" to see how long it would take to get anything we requested.)Finally, we simply asked for our check and even that took another 30 minutes! It was a 3 hour experience I will not soon forget. The food we did get tasted good.....but the night wore on so long that we were practically begging to pay our bill and leave. Will not be returning. No "good" food is worth being treated the way we were or wasting 3hrs of my life. I found myself apologizing to my guests out of embarrassment.I should note that I noticed the manager being called over to 2 other tables in our area of the restaurant. Long night for them, I'm sure.
Best selection in ATL! Good service and good prices. Our family has been shopping here since the 80's.
pretty good steakhouse..they cook your steak to perfection no matter how you ask for it which is rare..all in all good food..decent service
I loved this place, the food was hot and good. The service was excellent, keep in mind that your food is cooked to order. I had the shrimp and grits dish. Delicious. I will go back again and again!!! It has a bistro feel. Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
