This is one of my FAVORITE BBQ PLACES IN ATLANTA. The only reason why I'm knocking down a star is because the WAIT is ridiculous sometimes and very limited parking, but the FOOD IS FIVE STARS. I'm all about this life from the meat (rubs, brisket - lawd have mercy), to the sides (mac n cheese, brunswick stew), to the sauces....you can't go wrong. You must go here and you won't be disappointed.
Stopped in for a late lunch. Kinda surprised their menu doesn't have fries or baked beans. Nice, rustic atmosphere. The sides items are separate, so when you order meat pay extra for that coleslaw! BBQ was good though, 5 different sauces.
First barbecue experience in the south and it was good. The atmosphere added to the southern ambiance.
The Greater Good is our go-to place for BBQ near our home in Sandy Springs (right off exit 4A on 400). We went last night and had a great experience as always. It's a little place with a lot of charm right next door to Fellini's Pizza. It has a quaint outdoor eating area with hanging lights that twinkle at night. The inside is a little cramped but has a good old fashioned feel. We always get the three meat plate. I personally like the pork best but my boyfriend LOVES the chicken and brisket. The meat is delicious but is terribly dry without sauce.... but their sauce is amazing! I recommend the sweet. Yum.I am not a huge fan of the sides here- I just come for the BBQ. The fries taste homemade but just aren't my style and definitely are not good to-go. Boyfriend always orders the mac and cheese but always regrets it.Would definitely use them to cater for a football party or family gathering. I know it would be a crowd pleaser.
There are no words to describe how delicious everything at this place was!! Ok so I'll start with the fact they have amazing happy hour specials ( winning ) we ended up ordering like 1 of everything, my faves the chicken sausage and the BBQ crablegs, the jack daniels baked beans and Lord the homemade pound cake! Our Ashley knew her liquors. This is our new happy hour for sure.
Fox Brothers is by far my favorite BBQ joint in Atlanta. I always say if you can't smell the BBQ before you walk in its not real BBQ. You can literally smell the grill as you're passing the restaurant! I highly recommend the frito pie and the baked beans and pulled pork are a must. The white BBQ sauce should be used on the chicken and the banana pudding is the best option for dessert. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare so be prepared for that.
While at the Atl bbq festival I had a real southern treat which included, the mac and cheese, topped with fried Tabasco onions, and juicy tender pork, the southern style fried egg rolls stuffed and fried to perfection, and the miniature corn fritters. For a local bbq chain this place knows how to still keep their tradition going.
Where has this place been hiding?? Came here for a going away party and everything was AWESOME: the food, the space and the service. Our bartender taking our orders was so gracious, even trying to serve 20 people at once and take our food orders. On Tuesdays, you can get half off the small plates - such a steal. Everything we tried was amazing and I'd absolutely order it again. Get the fried pickles - such a big order! Can't wait to come back here.
Lovies is pretty darn great. It's one of the only spots in Buckhead to get a good BBQ sandwich. Their specials are always great. The collards are dang tasty. If you live or work in Buckhead, make sure to add Lovies to your regular lunch rotation. I heard their catering is on-point, too.
Great place to get BBQ and people watching in Buckhead! The food is very impressive, and I love how much variety there is on the menu, not just among the types of meats/sides, but types of dishes in general. There's plenty of options for the calorie-conscious! More details here: http://bit.ly/2aujHgY The cocktails are tasty and affordable, and I LOVE their patio! It's adorable, and after you're done with dinner, you can easily walk to most Buckhead bars.
