Dr. Braswell is laid back and funny. Those are the pros. However, office visits require long waits. I've never been there and waited less than 45 mins... I don't think I've ever waited less than an hour. That's JUST for vitals. After vitals you go back to the waiting room and wait some more. Finally, you're put in a room where you, again, wait some more. At LEAST another 30-45 minutes. I switched to Dr Braswell during the last two or so months of my pregnancy because I wanted a doctor who I could get comfortable with. Where I was before rotated doctors and so there was no guarantee as to who would deliver me. I expressed this concern. However, I soon learned there was no reassurance at Dr Braswell's office either. My first experience at her office was that I got there and was told that she was out on delivery. I waited several hours for her to get back . My second experience was that she was on vacation and I was being seen by the PA. There was another occasion where I came in and was told that my appointment needed to be rescheduled because she was out doing a delivery. However my question is why didn't the office staff call me before I left work early and came all the way to the office? The times I did actually see Dr Braswell she was pleasant enough but always seems to be in a hurry. She would answer questions but it always felt like she was answering them with one foot out out the door. Sometimes she literally was walking toward the door while answering. Not to mention one time when she gave me results from a test they did and seemed to blaze over them while verbally implying that I already knew them. How would I have? I even had to be the one to ask about the results. Had I not I wouldn't have found out important info about my pregnancy. I had to ask about everything. How was my urine sample? How is my bp? Where I transferred from they told me everything they were doing and so that's what I was used to. I think Dr. Braswell is too busy. Part of this could also be because the office only seems to open Monday through Thursday. Is this the norm for private practices? Doesn't seem normal to close every Friday and for the one Doctor to be off every weekend. Needless to say, I still ended up being delivered by a perfect stranger. This being my 1st pregnancy, it was important that I felt comfortable but I didn't. As far as current experiences. I contacted Dr Braswell's office on several occasions because I had a concern & question about some post delivery symptoms I was still having and wanted to verify if it was a true concern. Again I felt as if she was way too busy to give me proper attention. The receptionist also made it seem as if my call didn't deserve a direct conversation with Dr. Braswell, all of which would have taken 3 minutes. It appears that once you deliver you are no longer a concern. After several times calling and excuses from the receptionists, I still have yet to receive a call back. I just gave up. All of these perfect reviews that she's getting, I'm not buying. If I were to base my review only on personality then, yes, Dr Braswell would get 5 stars. But at the end of the day, I rather have a snob who at least took good care of me and ensured that everything went well pre and post delivery.

I love love love all the staff at GAWH! you'll feel the warm and sincere care from each provider. I know I've been a pain especially with this 3rd pregnancy but they make you feel safe and good about your pregnancy and obgyn needs. Office: located in a very convenient location (Emory Midtown), always clean and smells good it's definitely a plus for me! Staff: 5 star! very professional but caring and friendly. You'll feel the sincere care from each of the staff even at the reception area, just very accommodating and happy! plus all the practitioners are very knowledgeable. It's definitely a good feeling to get checked here because you'll leave the office feeling good and safe about you and your baby's health. Waiting time: it is about 15-30 minutes Also love the fact that Dr. Davis-Williams will also deliver my 3rd child, so happy with my OBGYN providers! Thank you so much for great service :) Shout out to Ms. V! you are the best!
I was referred to Dr. Braswell by a close family member, who recently had a baby. She spoke nothing, but great things about the office. I was a first time mom and did not know where to start. My first visit was inviting and once I was seen by Dr. Braswell she made me feel comfortable and welcome. She is really sweet and takes the time to thoroughly explain each procedure. Most of all I did not just feel like a patient I felt like family. My biggest concern was once it was take to delivery would she be there? I know many mother's could relate going to all those visits and time for the delivery there doctors could not find them. She was there for me 100% and waited for my son LANGSTON to be born thanks so much too the whole practice. When I do it all over again, their is no doubt I will be seeing her.
Dr. Schapiro is absolutely best doctor I've ever had!! She stayed on well after her 'on-call' shift to deliver my first baby, even though another doctor from the practise was available to take over. Dr. Schapiro took amazing care of me. After moving to another state, and having an awful experience, and being told my problems were in my head and not in my body, I took a trip back to Atlanta to see Dr. Schapiro, who not only diagnosed the problem, but operated successfully, and I am finally pain free!! She is professional, thorough, cautious, and SMART. After living in Texas for four years, I am still flying back to Atlanta to see Dr. Schapiro as my obgyn. I highly recommend her, and cannot imagine a better doctor out there!!
I had the most beautiful pregnancy journey while being a patient of GAWHC. My last experience with another practice was not the best, but I felt much more comfortable this time around. From Dr. Eaton's bedside manner to identifying/addressing pre-term labor complications, the staff truly went the last mile to ensure we delivered a healthy baby girl. My visits were timely and the staff worked with my schedule for both morning and noon appointments. There was even a day that I called the office because I wasn't feeling my baby kick as much and they brought me right in. The physician's assistant didn't brush me off and say drink some water and call back, she acknowledged my anxiety and addressed it immediately!
Dr. Schapiro delivered my 3rd child. It was a great experience (if having a c section can be great). I found her to be a very good doctor. A wonderful experience for me and my husband. However, 6 months later I found a lump. She immediately fit me in her schedule. Suddenly the fun-loving Dr. Schapiro was the very serious I-am-concerned-doctor. She got me in to see a specialist. She was by my side when I got the bad news. She even came with me to the surgeon. I really do believe that her quick response saved my life. Now I would consider her a great doctor. I went for my annual last month. I only waited 10 minutes. Everyone was a pleasure. I highly recommend her.
I am a nurse at Northside Hospital and Doctor Randell has been my OBGyn for almost 10 years. I come across alot of docs and Dr. Randell is the only one I know who is always available for his patients. He returns my calls whenever I call him and he always has an answer for my questions. It is obvious how much he cares about his patients and how much he is dedicated to his chosen profession. Today, it is difficult to find a doctor like Dr. Randell. He puts his patients fisrt. Dr. Randell has delivered my two children and did my hysterectomy. He is very intelligent, competent, and compassionate. Dr. Randell is the only Doctor I recommend to my family and friends.
I became affiliated with GAWH a year ago, by a co-worker. I must say my experience from then to now with the office staff, Dr. Kimberly Carroll has been a GREAT relationship. Especially my most recent pre and post operational procedure. The staff and Dr.'s in all capacity were most compliant to my inquires, requests, and making the surgery A GREAT SUCCESS. MUCH appreciation to my Doctor (Dr. Kimberly Carroll) I feel very comfortable in discussing all my health concerns without reservation because I trust her expertise and her professional observations and recommendations to best resolve her diagnosis. Thanks Greater Atlanta Women's Healthcare.
