Exceptional Service, Beautiful Venue, Great Value

I held my wedding at Spring Hall in September 2010. From my first visit to end of the ceremony, I was thoroughly pleased with the service I received, the beauty of the venue, and the tremendous overall value. I had never heard of Spring Hall when I ran across their name in a magazine. The magazine listed them as inexpensive, allowing outside caterers, and allowing outside alcohol. Those three things were important to me, so I decided to check it out.

The facility is located in a shopping center so it has ample free, well-lit, parking for your guests. Once you walk through the front doors, you forget that the facility is a part of a shopping center immediately. The venue is beautiful, much more so than some pricier and more popular venues I visited. It has a grand piano, intelligent lighting, a fog machine, a built-in hardwood dance floor, an industrial sized kitchen, a warm and inviting lounge area, a state-of-the-art sound system, a beautifully furnished bride room, and a furnished groom's room. Even the men's restroom was immaculate.

I saved a lot of money by being able to bring in my own caterer. I was able to provide an open bar all night by purchasing my alcohol from a liquor store and bringing it into the facility. Spring Hall provided complimentary bartenders and bar setup. Although I didn't use their caterer, they have a caterer on site.

I really can't say enough about what a great experience I had working with Spring Hall. Susan and Emily were very accommodating and accessible. If I wanted to drop by the facility any day of the week, I could, and I did. If they were working late to prepare for an event, they even allowed me to drop by after hours. Even my vendors were able to communicate with Spring Hall and make multiple visits to the facility as necessary. I called or emailed with questions as much as I wanted and my calls and email messages were always promptly returned. They truly made me feel like they valued my business, and they went out of their way to make sure that my wedding day was everything that I hoped it would be.

I highly recommend Spring Hall to future brides and others who are planning special events.

Great Value, Beautiful Venue

When one thinks of Buford Highway, one usually doesn’t think of elegant reception halls or wedding venues. Good authentic Mexican food - yes. A delicious bowl of hot pho - absolutely. Classy reception venue - excuse me?

Be that as it may, all my preconceived notions about the area flew out the window when I took my first step inside the hall. Everything from the chandeliers, mirrors, seating, and color palette was so inviting. The further and further I explored the venue, the more impressed I became. I loved all the details about every room in the venue (even the bridal room and bathrooms!). All the rooms are so elegantly decorated that I didn’t have to bring anything in except table centerpieces! The entire venue is modern, but classy.

Not only was the venue beautiful, but I had a very pleasant experience working with Emily and Susan. I had heard some grumblings about the previous management, but I had no trouble whatsoever working with these two women. They made my event a hassle free experience and were so easy to work with. They offer affordable packages for every budget and the staff is flexible and always helpful. The only downer was that their menu was a bit limited but it turned out to be fine because all the food served was delicious. Compared to other venues and catering companies that I had considered, Spring Hall is an unbeatable value. One other huge perk: I got to provide my own alcohol at the venue. I’m not sure how long this will be offered, but it saved me tons of money!

Pleasantly Surprised

I've attended three events at this hall since it's been taken over by new management and was pleasantly surprised.

I didn't think a banquet hall like Spring hall existed on Buford Highway. The hall is located in a shopping plaza, but don't be fooled by the location. I guess you can't judge a banquet hall by its cover; I was pleasantly surprised by the elegance and classy interior.

When I entered the hall, I first walked through charming hallways that lead me to a lobby area. The lobby in contrast to the hallway was elegant with colors that were rich and warm. The main ballroom was separated from the lobby area by double doors. The ballroom was very exquisite. The neutral wall colors gave the room a polished look. Three large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling light up the room with glam and charisma.

All three times I was served a buffet style dinner. The food was delicious. I really liked the bread that they served, but my favorite dish was beef marinated in some kind of sweet soy sauce. Everything else was compatible to my pallet.

They even have a karaoke machine!

Beware! One of the worst businesses I have ever dealt with

The owner (Sydnie) will be very pleasant and will be extremely flexible during the initial negotiation phase… HOWEVER, once the contracts are signed, you will see a completely different side. The owner and the manager have no idea how to manage a business or how to treat their customers. They will do/say ANYTHING to get you to sign and put down a deposit. Only after you’re “locked in” will they tell you about all of the additional fees that you will incur. After we paid our initial deposit, they even rescinded many of the services that were agreed to be included in our wedding package, claiming that those should never have been included in the first place. There were several items she agreed to include as part of the package, but she later denied ever having said that. Planning for a wedding is stressful enough, but it will be exacerbated tenfold if you have to deal with the shady people at Spring Hall. Our wedding was 3 weeks ago, and we are STILL disputing charges from Spring Hall.

We had heard a couple of bad stories about Spring Hall beforehand, but we foolishly decided to proceed with holding our wedding there due to the seemingly “great” deal that we got on our package. It turned out to be a NIGHTMARE. Please do not make the same mistake we did, and heed our warning. Spring Hall should be avoided at all costs!

If you are seriously considering Spring Hall, please comment on this review with your contact information, and I will tell you all the horrible details of our experience with this venue!

Terrible Experience

If you commit to having your event at Spring Hall, I highly recommend that you go over every single detail with the management multiple times and in writing. The manager at Spring Hall lacks all attention to detail and will forget any verbal agreements or instructions for your event. Any agreements made with the manager or owner is not guaranteed due to lack of communication between the two.

Even contract agreements are not guaranteed. The contract for my event included a full bar set up with glassware which was later explained to be “disposable glassware”, better known as plastic cups. Glassware had to be rented, rental cost out of my pocket, a week prior to the event from an outside vendor due to this “miscommunication”. This type of miscommunication occurred countless times, all of which were due to my “misunderstanding” according to Spring Hall.

This venue touts its luxurious venue; however, be aware that their idea of luxury includes plastic cups, wine glasses as champagne glasses, and wedding cake served on large plastic plates.

You will have to manage and reconfirm every single detail of your event only to find that it was not handled properly. An independent event coordinator is absolutely required at this venue.

Spring Hall lacks experience and professionalism. Customer service is not their forte and should not be expected if you hold your event here.

Classy, Upscale Buckhead reception in Doraville

Very upscale & classy place to hold the reception.
Didn't know it was there until friend of mine had her reception there.
When I inquire about the price and menu, they were very flexible with menu selection and they customize to fit into my budget, rather than one size fit all like other places.
Must go see place, they even look better than in pictures.
