If you're looking for a casual dining scene with some inexpensive tasty fried seafood. This is your place. A chill environment to eat, drink and watch some sports.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

My wife, I, another ATL area couple along with their two (2) daughters, Our God Son and his girlfriend (both from out of town) dined at their Memorial Drive SE location last evening and we were all very-very disappointed with the food. One word: ""Greasy""!!!! I still have heartburn!!!!

GREAT FOOD GREAT PLACE!!

My husband and I came in for lunch on Valentine's Day. We were seated instantly (why we came for lunch ... Dinner on Valentines Day I imagine was a little crazy). The atmosphere was amazing! In an old repurposed building overlooking the cemetery ... which oddly enough for Valentines Day was lovely.
We ordered Spicy Rat Toes (bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with shrimp) and Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers. YUMMY! For entrees my husband ordered the shrimp and scallop platter and I had the shrimp po boy. I really appreciate people who think outside of the box. I took a chance on the shrimp po boy because it wasn't prepared the way I normally have it. .. You know simply stuffed with lettuce, instead Six Feet Under puts lettuce, onion relish, and a wasabi sauce. I am sad we filled up on appetizers because we could only eat half of our meal before we were stuffed.
The service was exceptional to say the least! Can't find one complaint about that. The only thing that I would suggest would be to have a few more healthy choices listed on the menu. I'm not really supposed to have bread or breaded foods (ie fried) ... but I do have to say, this meal was definitely worth the cheat day. :)
I can't wait to come back again ... but because the menu options are unhealthy, I will have to bank up another cheat day to come back. ... but that means I'll be on my best behavior to earn the day.

For seafood lovers!

I really wished I lived closer to this place. I'm obsessed with the tacos. They are a culinary masterpiece! The combo tacos are the best. You can choose between 4 ( you get 3)
Shrimp, catfish, calamari or scallop. They are all good! Garnish and sauce are great. And if you want an appetizer, just order a basket of hush puppies with the jalapeño tarter sauce! They are out of this world!

Okay, I gave them a 4 for effo...

Okay, I gave them a 4 for effort. I would have to say that after reading the 600+ reviews on google I expected the WOW factor and I did get it, but just not with the food. The food was good, please do not mistake that, but it was not great. The atmosphere was really nice and the people there were great. I would definitely go back and recommed you to also. Just don't raise your expectations to high, keep in mind you are going to enjoy yourself.

Grease galore

This place is pretty much your typical dive bar.( Be warned the neighborhood is very rough.)
90% of the menu is fried seafood. I had one of the few items that was not fried, shrimp tacos, and they were OK but nothing special. The heavy, greasy side of onions rings did NOT go down well. If you don't usually eat fried food, stay away from this place. Can't for the life of me understand what all the rave reviews are about.

Great first time!

My husband and I visited here for the first time this past Saturday night, and LOVED IT! We arrived at 5:45 and were seated right away. We did notice that it got crowded very quickly after that, and there were quite a few people waiting up front. Our waitress was very friendly, and took wonderful care of us. The crabcake appetizer was very good, as were our entres. I had the scallop tacos, and my husband had catfish. We will definitely return.

Worst restaurant experience in years

We had a group of a dozen people for a tour across the street at Oakland Cemetery (great) and called the restaurant 2 weeks ahead to see if they could handle our party, which included some elderly folks and kids - they told us no problem, call the day of the event with the final number. We called at 1pm and told them 12 or 13 people were coming at 7:30 - they said fine, call again a half hour before we walked across the street. We called at 6:45 and told them 14 people, and our crowd was all there at 7:20. We told the hostess we'd take multiple tables when it was obvious they didn't have anywhere for us to sit. Lot's of people who came in after us were seated, and we reminded the hostess we'd agreed to be split up. After an hour of waiting (8:20) the hostess told me they had brought togo boxes to the table where they would put tables together for us and it should be quick. Then a useless blond woman got involved and seated several more tables of people walking in, including where we were told we'd be seated. She made a lot of excuses but didn't start seating us until we'd been there and hour and a half, by which point one couple and a local politician with their child had left in disgust. We were seated in 2 different rooms in a booth for 4 and a bar table with 7 seats. A manager came out from the kitchen and didn't really apologize for the lying staff or rudeness, but offered us free appetizers or coupons - we asked him to just get our orders in quickly and food served. Of course then it took 15 minutes to get a waitress to take our orders, and was not at all fast. I don't think the waitress that served us even knew we'd been there for a couple of hours. Nothing was adjusted on the bill, they automatically added gratuity, and never apologized to us. We were happy to schedule this event elsewhere, asked if they could handle it, and were assured it wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, the way they handled this event showed a total lack of principles and is not the way to treat customers. Was the food any good - it's hard to say with such a bitter taste in our mouths already, but we won't go back.

Rude Hostesses

My experience at Six Feet Under started off on a sour note. We walked through the door, and it started. The hostess tried to seat us at a bar table which would barely hold one plate of food let alone dinner for four. When I asked her to seat us at a normal table with chairs instead of bar stools, she snapped at us to wait at the front. After five minutes of staring at empty tables all over the restaurant, she finally took us to a table and slammed down the menus. This is a customer driven business, and if you can't come into work and knock the huge chip off your shoulder you should find another job.
Thankfully, the service we received tableside was great. Our server was friendly and more than helpful in answering questions.
Unfortunately, I will never make a repeat visit. The hostess ruined the experience, and there are too many other places in town with great food and great service.

A Greasy Dive

If this is your kind of place, it's one of the best. They have a large menu. They can fry anything.

HORRIBLE SEATING & SERVICE... Great Food.

We waited 2 and a half HOURS to be seated at Six Feet Under. This is not an overexaggeration, this is the honest to God truth. We called ahead and explained there would be 8 people for a birthday dinner (obviously a special event). They said there will be no problem. When we arrived they instructed us to wait at bar until our whole party was there, 10 minutes later everyone was accounted for. They explained it will be about 20-30 minutes. ONE HOUR passes, no table. We find that larger parties came in after us and were seated 'accidently, it was a mistake' and those parties were also for birthdays and were not getting up for a while. We waited TWO AND HALF HOURS before getting rude and very upset. They basically told us we could leave. WHAT.

Eventually they put us at a high top table in the bar area (how special... not so much). We were just happy to finally be seated and eating. We knew if we left and went elsewhere it would be pretty hard to get a table. They put us in an unfortunate situation.

I understand issues and mistakes do happen but the way they handled the situation was less than good.

DO NOT EAT THEIR IF YOU'RE WITH A LARGE PARTY OF PEOPLE!

The food was good so we left happily full. They didnt comp anything though (not that we expected it, but just throwing that out there).

One of the strongest Margaritas in Atlanta, Not so good food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Wife and I have been here before and everything was good so of course we came back. This time it was terrible and we decided to come on Valentines Day because we wanted some good food. Nope this was CLEARLY not the case I ordered fried oysters for appitizer they tasted like grease and were cold. For our main course we ordered the Crab Legs we got only three clusters and they were so small and cold along with the fact they were not seasoned. The Claws were the size of Claws on Blue Crabs. Now the drinks were the best we had the Killer Margaritas WOW is all i can say. This was HORRIBLE NOT RECOMMENDED.

Love the Shrimp Tacos! (And More)

I'm one to try anything at least once (let's clarify, almost anything) and if I like it I more than likely love it! Don't know if I'll be taking any stolls through the cemetary (conveniently located across the street) however; I tried the shrimp tacos and could swear I'd gone to heaven. I loved the taste, then the sauce (whatever it was), add a little tabasco....mmm mmm good. Love the salad with the 'hot bacon' dressing. The clam chowder is pretty good (the clams are definitely fresh). I've never been disappointed here. Gotta love consistency!

Great seafood and great prices!

My husband and I ate here on a Monday night and had a great time! The menu was right my alley..tons of things I would have liked to try. I settled on the taco combo platter with fish, shrimp and calamari. It was HUGE!!! and delicious!! My husband had the shrimp and scallops and loved his too. The refills kept coming on the tea and our waiter was really nice. The prices are a steal for the amount and quality of the food. We tried to come on a Sunday and it was PACKED with a 45 minute wait, so we tried again early on a weekday to ensure a more satisfying experience and we weren't dissapointed. Probably my favorite dining experience while in Atlanta!

Best burger in the city

You really can't beat the burger here. The meat, the bun, and the toppings are perfect, and the homemade potato chips that come with it are a treat as well. One of the only burgers I've ever had to which I never add anything, and I wouldn't change a thing. The restaurant offers some other good dishes to try as well, such as the well-made Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer.

best seafood at a good price

I love this place- cold beer and fried fish are perfect together. They have fried fish baskets, raw oysters, hush puppies with just enough kick, catfish, shrimp, anything you could want. No, it's not fancy seafood, but it's family friendly while still serving beer. Recently became non-smoking inside. This location has a wonderful patio that looks over historic oakland cemetary which is perfect on warm nights.

Good food, but the bar is not the place to be.

I have sat at the bar twice and it's been very disappointing. I like the food and the atmosphere is very cool, but it's like sitting in the middle of the desert with your friend. I'm a bartender and know how it works. Take control of your bar and let your guests know that you're there.

Fun and Great Food

Went to this great place for dinner on Memorial Drive right across from historic Oakland Cemetary humorously named Six Feet Under. We had the New England clam chowder, spicy, more like a bisque than a soup and delicious. We had fish and chips, fried cod and homemade potato chips, the cod was perfectly done in cornmeal and the chips were crispy and fantastic. The hushpuppies were light and slightly spicy with jalapeno pieces in them. Well worth the trip and the price was less expensive than most places. If you can walk after you are done take a trip thru the Cemetary or take a carriage ride. Will be back soon.
