Simply WOW! Excellent food, great service...we will be back. I recommend the salmon crisp apps and the pork chop - delicious! The only thing that was average about this place was the apple pie dessert...it wasn't bad...it just wasn't nearly as good as everything else.
Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable of EVERY item on the menu. The chef has such a passion for cooking, he has traveled the world for only the best to bring fresh to this restaurant. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the service was phenomenal! A definite must go!
EXCELLENT! New Orleans influenced, but fresh and different. Superb service, great appetizers (mussels and flash fried oysters), super entrees (scallops, flounder, venison) and outstanding desserts (biegnets, cranberry bread pudding). A converted factory building, nice contempory decor with free valet parking and a very friendly feel! A new favorite!

NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY!!!
I booked this restaurant 2 weeks ago for a group dinner, I am vegetarian so always check there is at least one entree I can eat, at that time there was a risotto that looked good .
We arrived last night and the menu had been changed and there was now NO entree that was vegetarian at all. We talked to waitress , who said she talked to the chef and we were promised I would have a pasta dish with veges and some tofu. Sounded good.
HOWEVER, what arrived was about a cup in volume of undercooked vegetables- no pasta no tofu, half the vegetables were inedible as they were so hard, the whole thing was over seasoned with salt. I told the waiter it was not good and not what I had been promised. Nothing was done
The check came and I had been charged $20 for a cup of badly cooked vegetables, again I complained about the high charge, they reduced the price to $16, again a ridiculous price. We were on our way to see a show so didn't have time to complain further but I was very unhappy and will never return.
The general service was slow, water not refilled, drinks slow to arrive and no real attempt made to deal with my complaint.
I wanted to go to Serpas for a long time, Last night I went with a few friends and it was hands down the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter was a jerk, he argued with us about items we did not order and the manager was very defensive. I cannot remember getting up in the middle of dinner and asking for the check. We didnt even want to finish out drinks. Terrible terrible terrible. Thank God for Sound Table down the street.
Took some friends to Serpas last night, the atmosphere was wonderful with the complete glass wall of the restaurant. Our appetizers were the tuna tartar and the fried oysters, and they were beyond great. For our main course, we had the trout and the butternut squash risotto and both were perfect. The service was so inviting, that we have decided to have our company dinner there in two weeks.
We can't wait to go back again!!

This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but is really cute and nice. Has an industrial feel inside and it feels like it's farm fresh, not sure if it is though. The Bloody Mary was completely fresh and really good. The french toast was good but not worth $14 or so it cost. Overall a cute place to take someone visiting but not some place I'd go to regularly.

Serpas is a chic spot with good food, however their customer service, and their treatment toward their guest is horrible. I made reservations for a dinner party and was almost forced to have a planned menu because I was thinking about 15 guest. I was told that they had a small kitchen and needed to be prepared for us, and that is standard for other restaurants, which I know is not true because I planned dinner parties at restaurants almost every year and this was a first. After discussing this for a while the owner said if I had 13 or less guest I would not have to have a set menu. The menu they were trying to force on me was a five course meal, which I was not going to make my guest pay for if they didn't plan on eating that much food.
Reservations were made for 12 guest and we arrived at the restaurant and got seated after the group arrived. The waitress came and took drink orders and appetizers. She brought back some drinks and took forever with the rest. I finally called the manager over to check on the rest of the orders. The manager brought them out with no apology...nothing. Dinner orders were placed and it took forever for them to bring our food out, and I mean a long time. The food finally was served. We received the tickets and one of my guest was charged for bread she ordered, but never got. Come to find out the bread was served to another guest on the other end of the table who ordered gumbo. She thought the bread came with it since she didn't order it or ask for it. It was a form of soup, so why not we thought. The guest who ordered the bread and did not receive it brought the charge to the waitress attention to remove it, so the waitress sent the manager over. The guest who ordered the bread didn't even see it on the table and the guest who got it with her gumbo didn't know the other ordered it, so we didn't question it at the time. The two guest where on different ends of the table. The manager came out and debated with my guest about the bread being brought out and eaten. He didn't take responsibility for it being given to the wrong person who had no idea she wasn't suppose to have it. The bread was $2, the manager was debating with the customer about it. He finally decided to say He would take it off if it would make her happy. That is what he should have said and done when he first walked out, and an apology along with it.
Also, Serpas charged me $2.50 to plate each of my bday cupcakes that they didn't plate, and they charge $2.50 each, to slice a cake if you bring that in. They try very hard to get every dime they can get from you.
This is the experience my guest and I had, and hope yours is better if you try this spot after reading this review.

Serpas was randomly selected b/of all the hype, however, I was extremely dissappointed. I dine out quite a bit and was disgusted that our party of 10 had to wait almost 30 mins for a waitress to appear AFTER being seated. After taking our drink orders, we had to inquire multiple times as to when our drinks will come...finally, the manager took our orders again and brought over our drinks. The dinner order was the same experience. My assumption is that since they include a 20% gratuity for large parties, they don't owe you even mediocre service. If you have lots of time to waste, don't care for an attentive server, and enjoy rude management, this is the place for you!!!
