7 of us made reservations for the French dinner with wine pairings for the evening of March 14th. We called ahead and asked if we could bring our own Champagne for the first course. Upon arrival, slightly late due to road closures for maintenance, our table was set with the appropriate stemware and our menu updated to reflect our personal addition. I wish we had kept a menu, because each course was so tasty and well presented, but the tornado struck sometime between course 4 and 5. Other than the doors blowing open and large debris flying down the street, there were no distruptions. Chef Lenny kept cooking and we didn't evacuate to the basement until just before dessert was served. The unfortunate tenants upstairs lost their windows, but the cosey and warm atmosphere of the restaurant shielded us from the brunt of the storm damage.

After spending a year in Paris, I was so excited to try a new French restaurant in Atlanta after moving back. Unfortunately, this place is nothing like the restaurants, cafes or brasseries found in Paris. The waiter was short on charm, rude when asking questions about the entrees and plats, and really slow. For example, we did not receive the wine list until they served our second course - after asking for it twice. In addition, when we ordered the wine, they were out and offered another option. Well that turned out to be $12.00 more and a poor choice for a Bordeaux. It took them more than 10 minutes to clear our first course and second course plates. Moreover, they got the order wrong and then yelled back into the kitchen from our table. The music was too loud and destroyed any residual charm. Finally, the food was not worth the money - the food lacked flavor and had no presentation on the plate.

I am the server referenced in this review. I remember the person who wrote it and I regret having contributed to her unpleasant experience. However, I feel compelled to respond because the reviewer leaves out significant details and paints an inaccurate picture.
I realize that my service reflects on the atmosphere at Fleur de Lis and I try to meet all of our guests? expectations. I am proud of the food that comes out of Chef Lenny?s kitchen and I know that what I do will directly affect someone?s ability to enjoy their experience with us. That?s why I feel terrible when I make a mistake.
However, it?s the unfortunate truth that mistakes will happen, even in the service industry. When they do, we cannot take them back. It is not my style to make excuses or to try to pull the wool over anyone?s eyes. When I make a mistake, I admit it, face the consequences and do my best to win the guest back.
When I realized that I had made a mistake with this order, I immediately went to the table to apologize and begin to remedy the situation. Without hesitation, I paid for their drinks ? two espressos and a mimosa. I knew it wouldn?t make up for having forgotten to submit their order, but it wasn?t an empty gesture, either. Out of respect, I paid for those drinks out of my own pocket.
I think a fair an honest review should have acknowledged the ?comped? beverages and my attempts to correct a bad situation. It should also have acknowledged that with the exception of the one mistake, I was attentive, pleasant and responsive to their needs. I was also respectful, which the reviewer was not. There was never a need to ?look at her like she was crazy,? nor to try to ?utter the absurdity? of the situation. This kind of condescension has no place in a review.
I encourage the reader to come see us at Fleurs de Lis. The food is not to be missed and you will see that the service staff goes to great lengths to please the guests.

Initially I always try to give the benefit of doubt, but in this case I'd have to be candid regarding the iffy, inconsistent service. In it' rather audacious attempt to distinguish itself from other restaurants, at least in this instance this potential little gem failed miserably in the area where there is little room for excuse, and that is service; and to describe it as deplorable is an understatement. My return for Sun brunch following a good first time Fri night excursion turned into a fiasco, when after waiting forty-five minutes for the order I'd placed was told by the apologetic server that she'd forgotten to turn it in. I looked at her like she was crazy. And then even after I told her to just give my guest and I a to-go box it still took them another thirty minutes to finally prepare and box it. And this occurred in a less than full house of patrons, I can't even utter to the absurdity, and given the fact it nearly ruined theater plans I had I was furious. As much as I initially enjoyed the overall ambiance and food, it will be a little time before I return or recommend to anyone. There are basic rules of common courtesy and appropriate standards of etiquette you would expect a restaurant would want to extend to it' customers, as I'm sure most customers expect as well. Though I understand the desire to recreate the authenticity of a French bistro with the ultra casual atmosphere, and while that type service may be the norm there, perhaps someone need remind them this ain't FRANCE. Go only if you have hours to wind away.

I just got home from having dinner at the cafe with five new friends. We enjoyed a delicious seven course meal prix fixe meal paired with Spanish wines. All evening, I felt like I was back in Paris, sitting in a cafe, lingering over a meal. The speed of service was typically European, meaning relaxed -- they were not trying to turn our table. My favorite course was the slices of duck served over pureed apples. Or was it the pasta with chanterelle mushrooms and essence of truffle. On the third hand, maybe it was the sea bass with fennel, the hanger steak with an expresso demi glace, or the bread pudding with dulce de leche ice cream and caramel sauce. The only course I really didn't care for was a tuna tartare. As for the wines, the others in my group really seemed to enjoy all of them, but the only one I really liked was the aperitif, which was very similar to sangria.

I found this to be a unique find downtown. I usually do not go downtown for dinner due to the limited choices and limited parking. This bistro was nice and romantic. There are only about 5 entrees offered - and they change daily. We found the entres to be around $20. The meat plate appetizer was excellent. My fiance had a delicious grouper entree, I had the ribs (which were not that great - too fatty). After living in France for a year, my fiance equated this place to bistros she dined at in France. Overall - it was a nice dinner and we will definitely go back.

We made our second visit on June 2nd. This is a French French restaurant and not Buckhead French. Small, cozy, with a very nice atmosphere. Service was excellent and you can talk to theChef/Owner. My picky wife ordered Mussells with Gray Snapper and I went with the Filet. Both were excellent. The menu is changed often and the the server reads you the days menu. It is small so I would recommend reservations. It's not a place for children that cannot be controlled.

My husband and I stumbled upon Les Fleurs de Lis sort of by accident: we like French food, and wanted to try a new place, and so one Saturday night we went to find the restaurant Creative Loafing had given such good reviews. Going anywhere downtown on a Saturday night is a crap-shoot as far as seating goes, but we were welcomed very nicely and only waited a few moments until they cleaned a table for us. The atmosphere is distinctly French, so much so that I felt transported to France, almost forgot we were still in Atlanta! There were only two entrees available for the evening (our very nice server explained that they'd had a large party earlier that had eaten them out of a lot of their food), the mussels stew and the butternut squash ravioli, so we got one of each, and they were superb. My husband also got the pate and he said it was very good. The table next to us got some sort of chocolate dessert that smelled divine, I wish I had room for it! We shared a nice bottle of dry white wine and our total bill came out to about $80, which I thought was very reasonable for a bottle, two appetizers and two entrees. What really made it wonderful were the servers laid-back but still professional attitude, welcoming and comfortable. On the whole, we had the most fantastic, romantic evening, totally out of the blue. We will definitely be going back!
