Jon David Salon has just recently added a new guy, Matthew, to their team. Let me be the first to tell you that you MUST go see him! he is a graduate of Paul Mitchell the School Atlanta, and continued on to a very well renowned buckhead salon to continue his education and refine his skills. but that fancy schmancy buckhead atmosphere was not working for him, so he found himself here, among other talented men, and is ready to build his business under Jon David Salons. He does AMAZING highlighting work and specializes in ombre color, which is that hot trend you see all over hollywood where the ends are lighter than the rest of the hair. He is also fantastic with his haircuts, but his blowdries are the true treat of your visit. Matthew WILL have you leaving with the sexiest ""victoria's secret-esque"" blowout you've ever had. His work is consistent and his professionalism is top notch. He is even running a promotional special for first time clients!!!! So run on over to Matthew at Jon David Salon for good conversation, great value, and excellent hair.

I have been going to some of the best salons in Atlanta my whole adult life like Toni and Guys and Van Michael. I have always gotten a good haircut at these places, but none of them compare to Jon David Salons. Not only is the atmosphere very inviting, Jon and his staff are all very personable and friendly. But the haircut is phenomenal. There are a lot of reviews talking about how great Jon is with curly hair, but I have curly hair that I wear straight and the cut that he gave me is the best I have ever had. It is easy to style and always looks perfect. I am so excited to have found someone so talented!

Great atmosphere, great people, great hair cuts, colors, and products. I am 100% obsessed with everything Moroccan Oil: shampoo, conditioner, curl cream, and of course the original oil. It has literally changed my hair completely for the better. Jon gets new shipments in every week, so check it out next time you're in getting a fab hair style.

MoroccanOil Curl Control Cream!!! Jon David Salons has it!! Jon just started carrying it and he can barely keep it on the shelves. And for good reason! I’ve been going to Jon for cuts since I moved to Atlanta about two years ago and just about nine months ago... after keeping my hair super short for years and years rather than deal with my very difficult, very curly hair... Jon suggested thinking about growing it out. “I can help you...” he said... and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my curls. The man knows what he’s doing. When Jon raved about this new product in his shop, I knew I had to try it!
Even in this crazy Atlanta humidity, my curls... for which “difficult” is usually an understatement... look great.. all day! With Jon’s cuts, Jeremiah’s color and a comfortable and great shop that knows what products to carry for us “curly girls”... (along with all other hair types)... I can’t possibly see myself ever wanting to go to another salon. It’s nice to love my curls after years of fighting them.
Jon used a new technique on my straight hair; now I can just blowdry without using my curling iron! And Jeremiah, the colorist, always gives great highlights every time. I love the Morroccan Oil hairspray that just came out. He carries the whole line. Jon's chic salon is in a cool old warehouse near Inman Park which is really happening!

I have been a client of Jon's for two years, and I am so delighted that he has opened his own salon. I was never a huge fan of going to the big fancy salon in Buckhead where he used to work - I felt pretty out-of-place among the very dressed up and made-up clientele, all toting the standard Gucci or Louis Vuitton handbags ;) I'm a little more laid-back, and I prefer a place where I don't feel like I'm strutting down the catwalk when I walk through the salon doors. If you're like me and you are attracted to a low-key kind of salon experience, then this is definitely the place for you.
Jon has put much thought and hard work into creating a well-designed and truly intimate space for his salon. The relaxed ambiance is definitely a reflection of Jon's professional demeanor. Easy-going and personable, Jon always keeps me engaged in conversation while he's working his magic on my hair (and believe me, with my wildly unruly curly hair, he really does have to work magic!)
Now, I hesitate to give Jon even more publicity for his curly hair expertise. Trust me, he is definitely very, very good with curly hair - that's why I will continue to trust my locks to him. I just want to make sure that he is not only known for curly hair! I have sent my boyfriend and a good girl friend, both with decidedly straight hair, to Jon, and they think he does an excellent job too.
All in all, cool environment + cool price+ even cooler hairstylist = a very happy repeat customer.

I have been a client of Jon's since 2004 and have continued to go to him even after I relocated to Denver in late 2006. There was a brief moment of fear when I called over to VM for an appointment and was told he was no longer doing hair, but I soon heard that he had opened his own place. Thank God!
Some have called him the ""curly hair god"" due to his talent for making curly hair look good whether straight or curly. All I know is that I still travel from Denver for my haircuts only because NO ONE out here can cut my hair right. You know your stylist is top notch when you're willing to fly over 1000 miles to see him.
If you do check out his salon, make sure to get a bottle of the Morrocan Oil. I wish I had found it years ago since the dry Colorado air has destroyed my hair at times. I started using it a month ago and have had more compliments on my hair lately (people don't know how it looks so healthy since I straighten it out a lot).

I am so glad I found Jon again and that he has opened his own salon. What a great location by one of my fave bakeries..the Highland Bakery. Jon is amazing with curly hair and that is not easy to find. After having a baby my curls were looking so sad and I thought they were going away, but after my last visit he has my spirals bouncing back to life! Thanks Jon.

I just moved in the area and found this salon down the street from my house. I loved my stylist back home so was a bit nervous to try someone new. I decided to get cut and color on the same visit. Jon and Jeremiah were absolutely fantastic. Really cool, down to earth guys that do an impeccable job. I am so glad to have found this place!!!!!!

I have been a client of Jon Whittakers for about 8 years. I had a moment of shock when I called Van Michael to book my appointment with him and was told he no longer worked there and wouldnt tell me where he had gone. Alas, I found him on city search about 4 weeks ago. Happy as could be I booked my appointment asap. Come to find out they were having a grand opening party that coming weekend and invited me to it. What a blowout. He knows how to throw a party. The salon looked incredible, the band was incredible, the photo exhibit was incredble, and the food and wine was, well, incredible. Huge turnout and met some great people.
So my appointment was the following wednesday. Wow is all I can say. Such a relaxing enviroment. Low key and calm, simple and beautiful, no pretentiousness to be found. I dont need to say anything about Jon and his cutting abilities on my curly hair or his impecable customer service. 8 years of loyalty speaks for itself. Although HE seems much happier and relaxed. I highly recommend this perfect little salon in the highlands. Especially if you have been lost with your curly hair ( he carries Ouidad. YAY!). Thank you so much for not leaving us jon.
