Overall

We eat here 2-3 times a year and it is always delicious! They bring warm biscuits when you arrive! Their shrimp and grits and great, as are the fish and fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. They have a varied menu- something for everyone. Wonderful atmosphere inside and out. Pretty gardens.

Wonderful service

We visited this place few weeks back and we were not delighted during our stay there. The food they served was not outstanding. It was not bad but it was not exceptional neither. It's just the type that you can easily get from any other ordinary restaurant. The service was good though and staff was accommodating.

Always consistently good

Every time i have been to Horseradish, the food is solid. Not going to knock your socks off, but very good. And the atmosphere is warm and friendly. I def. recommend.

Overpriced, inedible

Will not go back.
Country steak needed hacksaw to cut.
Potatoes were greasy.
Corned beef hash recipe was not normal.
Tasted greasy and corned beef chewy
Shrimp were chewy.
Biscuits fell apart.
Horrible experience.

Seen better days

I want so much to like Horseradish again. Unfortunately, on my last 2 trips, I've run into the same issues: an absolutely clueless hostess, wait staff spread much too thin, and a new head chef whose descriptive powers are considerably better than either his ingredients or his cooking. The website talks about catering to individual needs, but an email 3 days before my latest visit was never answered and, at the Sunday brunch, a friend and I had to practically beg for the only vegan option because it happened to be on the lunch instead of the brunch menu. It was described as a winter salad of lettuce, apples, cranberries and nuts. It was actually a chunk of not-particularly-fresh iceberg with a few perfunctory apple shavings and dried cranberry-like red things bobbing around in a vinaigrette that managed, somehow, to be gloopy as well as utterly bland. (Seriously, how is it possible to make a full-fat vinaigrette, presumably without xanthan gum, that clings slimily to the fork like wet blue jeans to thunder thighs)? They advertise Sunday brunch from 11 - 3, but by 1.15 the place was deserted and, sadly, I can see why. Since I both live and work fairly nearby, this used to be my go-to restaurant for both clients and out-of-town visitors. Not any more. I'm sure Horseradish will continue to have its devoted fans who go because it's local, cozy and friendly, but unfortunately for me it's no longer worth the prices (still pre-recession, unlike the quality) or the 15-minute drive.

not consistant

I especially went to Horseradish Grill to have the shrimp and gritts that I always order. They are usually great. Last night, I sent the small (which were to be jumbo) shrimp back because they tasted like rubber. The waiter kindly, sent them back and brought another round. The second round was far worse. The rubber texture from over cooking was not the standard I have experienced over the years.
I was really disappointed since I chose the restaurant and wanted to show my date, a great place to dine.

Long Time Favorite

Horseradish Grill has a strange name because I've never seen any horseradish on the menu, but this is an incredible place for gourmet southern food. I love the mini bisquits with peach jam.
