The World's Largest Aquarium
They are rated the #1 aquarium in the country right now, for a good reason. They have some amazing exhibits, including beluga whales, sea otters, a dolphin show, and recently added sea lions. Their biggest and best tank features 4 whale sharks along with a variety of other sharks and fish. Everything is really well laid out and they have tons of interactive/educational areas for kids too. They do lots of cool events, like Sips under the Sea, and their ballroom for events is spectacular.
The Georgia Aquarium is an amazing place. I just love the dolphin show there. The design of the aquarium is excellent. There are many beautiful fishes and also the he whale sharks, beluga, giant octopus, and sea dragons are among my favorite creatures!!The big pool, the shows, the backstage tour is gorgeous, staff and everything. Its a really awesome place to take the pictures.
This is one of my favorite Atlanta attractions, and with the cost of entrance. It is the only place I can whole heartedly recommend to visitors. These is so much to see and learn and the space absorbs the large crowds. Buy tickets on line to avoid the wait and possibly get a discount.
Atlanta is my home, so naturally I visit the aquarium with each family member that comes into town. I've gone about 6 times since the aquarium opened. Each time there is something new to see or do! I love this place.
I recommend walking through Centennial Park before or after you visit. If touring with young children, you may want to bring a bathing suit just in case you wonder towards the Olympic Fountains.
The whale sharks, beluga, giant octopus, and sea dragons are among my favorite creates!!
A number of reviews didn't like the Dolphin Show but we felt it was okay. Sure, it could have been better but all in all we had a good time. Overall, the aquarium was top notch with many exciting exhibits and interactive programs. Our entire family enjoyed the outing and learned lots of interesting facts!

This is a really nice aquarium but they let too many people in at once! And most of the people have children and that equals STROLLERS!!!!! I pay more to get in so i should be able to see all the exhibits! To be honest they really should have one day a week that is only for adults! Nothing against children but they are noisy and the amount of strollers is ridiculous! I also went to SeaWorld this weekend and wow they have a good system down! They didnt allow strollers in some of the buildings and it was great! The management team from the Georgia Aquarium need to visit the SeaWorld team because they have a way better system that fits everyone!

I thought was going to see dolphins and get better educated or learn something about them...NOT! I felt like I took a wrong turn and ended up in Vegas, at a cheesy Elvis show where Elvis saves the world from a crummy animated ""Pirates Of The Caribbean"" world. I was just waiting on the edge of my seat wondering when the Johnny Depp impersonator was going to come out riding a dolphin. They did have dolphins in the show (about 15% of it) and they are beautiful, but they did not even tell us their names or acknowledge them at all. What a waste of my money and the opportunity to educate the public about such a beautiful creature.

The Georgia Aquarium is by far the coolest I've seen. I signed up immediately for the annual family pass. With that said, I am so disappointed in the dolphin show. It was ill conceived and horrible. Why? It scared my three year old so bad he couldn't watch most of it. When it finally ended, he pleaded, ""please don't make me do that again."" This is suppose to be a family friendly environment and this show falls short with unneeded violence and dark scenes. I think someone forgot to tell the creators the show is about dolphins, not some scary made up story. I overheard lots of other people with the same comments. That's how bad it was!
The other problem I did not like was their horrible special effects. They were mediocre and boring. I expected more. If you are planning on bringing young children to see this show, sit on an aisle in case you have to leave!
