Don't listen to the haters

Sorry, but I don't know what some of these other people are talking about.
Every time I have gone to this restaurant , the service has been impeccable, the food has been delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere amazing.

The food takes a little longer to come out because it is cooked fresh to order. If you don't like it, go eat at the Olive Garden or open a can of Chef-Boy-R-D! As for service, they keep a small staff of friend wait-persons, because it is a FAMILY restaurant. That is a major part of its appeal. There are literally generations of a family working there.

I think some people on this site just come on here to complain. As for the service dog story--that's just bull. There is NO way that the restaurant owner did that.

Franco's is delish and authentic. Don't like the real thing? Go back to Macaroni Grill, you nasty suburbanite!

not a good welome

Just as a couple other reviewers have posted, I have driven past Francos for a couple years and never tried it. We were craving good pizza/pasta and decided to try it out.
It didn't seem very busy so this was the perfect time (a Friday evening).

We entered the restaurant and no, they were not busy at all and we saw the sign asking us to wait to be seated. Well, one waiter looked up at us when we entered and the other gentleman looked up as well as he was cleaning off a table (that was directly in front of the door where we were waiting).
Well... we waited and waited and no said hello, no one said welcome, no one even acknowledged us. I tried calling out, ""excuse me sir!"" but the gentleman I mentioned earlier, never even turned his head.

I was a bit disappointed so we turned around and began walking out... no one even came after us.

Sorry to say but first impressions mean a lot!

Hidden in plain view!

Like most of the people in Morningside, I drove by Franco's for years, and now after trying it, I eat there at least once a week. From a wide variety of freshly prepared pizza to terrific dinner entrees and really fresh salads, their wide selection contains something for everyone, from business lunchers to serious foodies. The wait staff is second to none, and is always happy to make suggestions or answer questions. Definitely worth a try or a repeat visit!

GREAT customer service, wonderful food

Francos had a wine special, which we tasted, accepted, and had two glasses poured. We then realized we did not care for the wine. They took back the two glasses, did not charge us for them, and said ""We just want you to be happy."" We were! The food was wonderful, the service warm and perfect. We were so pleased and recommend this place highly. A grand neighborhood joint, with excellent food and a terrific atmosphere. Mangia!

.Fantastic eating experience in Atlanta!

This is my 3rd visit to this restaurant. What a delight, fantastic food/service and a great atmosphere. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anybody.
The waiting staff are attentive, particluarly the owner and nobody could do enough to please me.
I had pizza which was wonderful and such attention to detail made this a memorable dining experience.
Cant wait to come back or get a take away.

Terrible food

I am really disappointed with the food and service. I was looking for a good italian food, but instead it looked liked it was a left over food that was re-heated. I complained to the manager and but instead I was given the attitude of ""too bad, that's what we have"". My experience is, terrible, bad, terrible.

I'm so surprised by ""louinatlanta""'s comments. Great experience here for our group of 4!!

Only one of us had pizza, but it was excellent (much better than Osteria's in my opinion). I had the roasted chicken, which was excellent. And the eggplant parmesan was the some of the best I've had (baked, not fried!). My husband had a huge pork chop, says it was best he's ever had. But mostly, we had just the opposite experience with the owner!! He stopped by our table specially, asked how we liked individual dishes, told us about some of the new entrees, & couldn't have been nicer. We've been here more than once & usually have pizza, but now I'm interested in trying more of the other dishes based on our experience. Definitely recommend giving this place a try - spinach salad was very different also, with an olive oil based dressing & feta cheese.

RUDE Owner

If the Owner would stay away the place would be better. He is rude. The food is good. The wait staff is very pleasant. The portions are small and the prices are too high...top that off with a rude owner and it is not worth stopping by.

There are better Italian Food stores in Atlanta with MUCH BETTER prices. Osteria is much better!!!

The seating is not in tune with the kitchen...takes way too long to get a meal.

Did my group have a bad experience? You bet we did and we will never go back.

Denied my wife entry with her service animal, in violation of federal law

Last week we were greeted by the owner who let us know we were not welcome in the restaurant with my wife's service animal. The owner ignorantly pointed out that my wife's dog did not appear to be a 'seeing-eye-dog' My wife's dog, which had a service animal vest and credentials (neither of which are required by the way) is small and alerts my wife to a medical condition before it happens. We politely explained to the owner that there were other types of service animals other than seeing eye dogs, but he did not seem interested and made it clear that we were not welcome. This is the ONLY restaurant in Atlanta we have been denied entry into for years!!. Restaurants can be fined up to $55,000 for the first offense for denying a handicapped person entry. We have filed a complaint with the ADA, and have several witnesses to the incident.

Seated like sardines

Seating for 6 people was two tables for two and, they refused to give proper seating. Food was not worth the very cramped seating.
