use the coupon because we did not have a paper copy. He suggested we come back and bring a coupon the next time. I guess he assumed everything else was that spectacular that we were willing to ignore the obvious deceptive practices they were using as business owners/providers. Although we showed him what was written on their site, he took no ownership because as he stated, he did not manage the page and would not give us the credit. If this is the way they conduct business, I suggest frequenting some of the other Mexican restaurants in town because they obviously do not value their customers or stand behind their OWN word!

We love the fajitas so much...it is so hard to decide which ones to get! I typically order the chicken and my husband orders the steak and we share. The cheese dip is to die for and I normally order an extra to go to keep in the fridge. During the last Superbowl we had over a group of people at our place and we brought in El Azteca...it was such a hit! Just like in the restaurant the food was fresh, hot and consistent! From going to the Ponce location and sitting on the patio to the inside dining it is a great place to head to when craving amazing Mexican food and we LOVE the Margaritas. Plenty of parking and a great wait staff are just a few of the many reasons why I keep going back there!

Authentic tex-mex and Mexican food. The cool part about this restaurant is the location and the patio. It's a great place to gather with your friends and get a pitcher of Margarita's and enjoy the view on Ponce. One of the few places in Midtown that doesn't water down their drinks. The food is fresh and served quick. Always a great combo.
I'm a sucker for Mexican food and this place has become a favorite spot of mine. The service and food is always pretty quick, and the margaritas are very strong. With Spring in full swing the patio is a great spot to meetup with friends and get some fajitas and margaritas!

Or at least don't get delivery from the one on Ponce. A few nights ago, my girlfriend and I ordered delivery... appetizer and two entrees. Estimated delivery time was 45 min at 830P. At the hour mark I called to check on the status to make sure they had all of the information correct. I was told the driver had left 20 minutes prior and was on the way. At the 80 minute mark, the driver called and wanted to confirm my address. He was still 10-15 minutes away. After 10:00P, the food finally arrived. It was cold, soggy, and disgusting. We threw it away. The manager promised that he would credit back my card and to check back in a few days. Today they say they can't do that. When I said I was not going to ever go back to that restaurant, the manager told me to ""GO TO HELL."" It sure is an odd way to run a business. To be fair, I've never eaten in the restaurant. So, maybe that is a different experience. Based on the manager's behavior, I guess I'll never know.

I come here alot so that I can drink margaritas and eat for cheap. So far while living in ATL this place hooks it up on the tequila when it comes to serving margaritas. I usually order a Chimichanga or Nachos and they are really really good. To be fair I don't venture outside of my comfort zone with these items very much, so I might not be the best person to write a food review. but if you do go you can bet your money on the Chimichangas and margaritas.
My wife and two kids ate there last Sunday on our way home from church. This was a perfect choice for us as our bill for the four of us was only $35. I had the Texas Fajitas which were phenomenal, my wife had a chimichanga, and the kids were happy with chicken burritos as well as a cheese dip. The service was courteous and polite and the food came quickly. I will definitely be coming back to El Azteca!
I came in around 7:00 looking for a quick meal. The parking lot was a little small, but thats not really an issue. I ordered two of their Kick ""A"" Margaritas and was a little surprised at how strong it was. I was nearly falling out of my seat halfway through the 2nd margarita so my plans of getting some work done didn't really pan out. I ordered the Burrito Azteca that was quite good. Im happy it was a huge portion because i needed something that would soak up all the alcohol. My only complaint was that it should be spicier but thats the same complaint I make at every restaurant.
My server's name was Marilia and she was pretty cute and very nice. She made sure that i had a very pleasant experience and I'll be sure to sit in her section again next time.

I Love El Azteca! It is one of my guilty pleasures and I just adore their food! Not to mention their sensational margaritas! I think I have tried just about everything on their menu as I frequent there at least twice a month. some of my favorites: Fajitas, (all of them, steak, chicken, and shrimp) Tostagucs, Chile Rellenos, Burritos (they are a meal in itself) And the tacos are terrific too. Try the soup if you want something light, and the tostados are quite good too, I am not really a salad guy, but the tostados are how I do salad! The cheese dip is addictive and the service is excellente! Why aren't you there right now? I am!
I grew up in San Diego and went to school in Arizona so I know Mexican food! When I moved to Atlanta everyone told me a great place for Mexican food and a relaxed place is El Azteca on Ponce De Leon. I got a group together and this was a wonderful evening!
The portions are huge, the food is hot, fresh and made to order. The service is great and they let you enjoy yourself (not rush you) and have a great time. There is also a bar downstairs that I want to go back to! Our waiter was telling us about it since there is a separate entrance...I thought that was extremely considerate to the restaurant patrons that may not want to deal with the bar. Everyone ordered something different and we ended up sharing our meals. The portions are huge and are such a great value! Someone we went with had food allergies and the waiter was so accommodating to help out to make sure everything was prepared to our specific requests.
The margaritas we were told are the best and they are perfectly blended or are amazing on the rocks. FOREWARNING...the cheese sauce is to die for...this is truly a must. What I loved about this place is everyone makes you feel welcome, the food is great and even the owner stopped by to ask how everything was!
This place is perfect for comfort food. From the outdoor patio, plenty of parking and a huge menu selection! Also another huge plus...I just found out THEY NOW HAVE DELIVERY! The restaurant really cares about their customers and truly is a great place that I will keep going back to and planning get-togethers at!

I had went here for a freinds birthday, and was excited, I love Mexican food of any kind. When I got my taco salad it was soggy and had two peices of meet. The margaritas were all sour mix. And good luck getting an order in, in the first place. When it was time to close out the waiter was to busy to close me out. I went to the register to close out after asking him three times and was not serviced again. I finally got to ask the manager to help me and LUIS the server started to curse at me in spanish and threataning to beat me up and ki ll me in spanish. P.S. LUIS I know spanish. So in conclusion If you want poor service and bad food and possibly a fight with the staff go visit this place!

I love it!! Best Fajita's and Texas Margaritas in existence! Great patio! The service is always crisp and courteous. The best thing is when you've ordered a pitcher of Texas margaritas and you've downed the first one and snacked on some chips and salsa. Hunger hits and then the clouds break and here comes the waiter with a sizzling skillet of Texas fajitas. The iron skillet is overflowing with shrimp, chicken and steak all smothered in green peppers and onions. This usually draws the eye of everyone within a few tables who wonder why they didn't order the fajitas. But when it hits the table the sight and smell are a delightful. If you are on a first date fellas she will be impressed. That and a pitcher of Texas margaritas works every time!!!! I have to have it at least a couple of times a month.

I enjoyed the dinner and atmosphere... The problem the rude patrons downstairs blocking the exit. The drive is a one way... Why is the exit blocked? Why are there patrons drinking outside and blocking the exit? I will not waste my money at this place again.

I went to El Azteca last Sat afternoon with a friend and we dined on the patio. She had a steak quesadilla and commented on how good the steak tasted. I had a vegetarian quesadilla and it tasted just as good as other Mexican restaurants. The patio is great and all the umbrellas offer shade from the hot sun. The service was good and prices cheap. I'd give it a try!

The copious amount of margaritas being served explains the decent food rankings. I don't care about the service. I'm not interested in the ambience. I just want to know that I will be able to hold down the food that I order. The chicken fajitas are shockingly bad. We all like nice patios, but I just don't think the trade-off is worthwile.
