Just left the office. I have used their services for myself and my children since 2007. Yes, they have always been heavy handed trying to up-sale l me on various services. Usually, they would stop the up-sale after I declined once or twice. Today however, they would not give me the basic cleaning, the entire point of my visit. Siting that my dental requirements made a deeper cleaning mandatory. Yes, if I could afford, or chose to pay the extra $200 that is fine, however I declined and asked them to perform the basic cleaning which is covered by my insurance. Coast Dental refused to perform the basic cleaning, due to "legal liabilities." I offered to sign a legal waiver. Yet than was not acceptable. Again, they would prefer for me to walk out with no treatment.Yes, I believe the dental profession is becoming more like a car lot. Except the car lot allows you to be the Toyota, if you do not want to buy the Lexus.
