Very unexpected - the exterior of the building is unassuming and honestly looks a bit run down. When you step inside, you're completely transported. It's a beautiful, dark, luxe Mediterranean restaurant with wonderful food and fun, attentive service. I didn't try the hookah, but the lounge style and private rooms make it something I would love to try.
My new fave. Met with some friends for dinner and drinks and boy was I surprised, I've driven by this place many times but when I say first class service we started with the hummus and I had the steak kabobs all of it was delicious our sever was prompt and stayed on top of keeping our table happy. Alfredo ( manager I believe) was beyond helpful as well. I will be back.
I was pleasantly impressed with the delicious food in this cute new Greek grill. I ordered a lamb gyro and it was marinated to perfection, dressed with organic greens, and wrapped in velvety soft pita bread. They were busy so I had to wait a couple of minutes but the wait was acceptable. Very yummy and I will definitely go back.
I'm a usual customer of filos. Everytime I come in I order food and while waiting I go use the restroom...literally. I was stopped by the owner after I used the restroom and was told I'm no longer allowed to use their facilities. I felt embarrassed because he met me right as I walked out the restrooms. And unwanted as a usual customer.
I love Mediterranean food and this place has now been added to my must stop list. I went here on my lunch break and had the Chicken Salad and it was so good. Packed with all kinds of goodness. The staff was nice, but the restaurant is small. If you're going to eat there I would eat outside. This way you don't have to hear everyone's conversation. I wish hummus came with the salad , but it doesn't. That would be the only thing that I would change if I could change something. A nice healthy lunch for all.
I eat a lot of Mediterranean food; it's my favorite cuisine. No doubt Basil's is the best Mediterranean restaurant in the city! My first visit, I ordered the smoked salmon flatbread, and it was delicious! The salmon was moist, the sauce was just right, and the flatbread was light and crunchy. My first visit was so marvelous I decided to pay a visit the next day. During my latest visit, I ordered the Mediterranean Platter. It carries the pita bread, hummus, tabbouleh, marinated chicken, falafel, and jasmine rice. It was so yummy I ate as I drove. I talked my boyfriend into joining me days later; he wasn't impressed and as empty as it was the staff was slow, the place was unorganized. I'll continue explore the menu but certainly during lunchtime when the staff's slightly more attentive and not panicky.
Food and service is great! They play the music a bit loud and hard to hear if you are having a conversation but other than that we will definitely go again!.
Excellent, authentic Mediterranean and Israeli food. They have a lot of options and combos - if you aren't familiar with this style of food, a few of the menu items are hard to navigate (I didn't know what many of them were!). Super tasty and fresh.
I had the hummus as a snack and it was really good and tasted fresh. The sabich is also great if you want to go with something vegetarian as its an eggplant dish.
I use to like the atmosphere a lot more but it's a great place to hang out late on the weekends. Great music & tasty food if you like Middle Eastern cuisine.
