Been member of BRF for 3 years, they give no per item price, I know why. They basically give a 7 month food supply price but then make it seem much better with a "35%" discount if you buy a $4,000 package which includes the freezer, delivery, etc. The $4,000 package can be financed for only a little per month at around 16% interest! Dont matter how good your credit rating is, you pay high interest rates on the freezer and then again on the food you order! My package for a family of 4 usually was around $265/mo for 7 months which doesn't seem too bad if you don't do research and compare prices. $265/mo for 7 months come to a total of $1,855 with $120 of that being interest, if you pay cash for the food it's $1,735. I have ordered meat about 4 times now. the other day I finally took my meat list to publix, Costco, &my local market, priced similar meat at each. Publix was $900,Costco was $640 &meat market was $950. A ripoff from blue ribbon!!! Meat isn't that great, veggies are horrible!
My opinion of this company is dropping. The lack of transparency is bothersome. Since everything comes as a program with points that determine how much food you will receive, there's no way to determine if you're paying the same as what you pay in the store. When they come to do their sales pitch, they wait until the very end to tell you that in order to get the 35% discount on the food you have to buy one of their freezers which you can finance at a very high interest rate. My theory is that this is where they make their money. Once we paid off our freezer, the customer service plummeted. When I did my last reorder, we weren't talking points anymore, it seemed to be ala carte. When I asked for an explanation, the answer was vague. Starting to wish we had never signed up.
I'm still happy with Blue Ribbon meats + freezer veggies, pizzas + desserts. Quality has stayed the same and service is great, too. Thank you.
I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Completely felt like I've had the old "bait and switch" pulled on me. Promised frozen vegetables that were just like fresh veggies, but delivered flavorless mush. The seafood was no better. Their resolution was to either provide me with food our family didn't really eat or to provide us with nothing but chicken. Complete waste of money - especially considering I can get organic or hormone & steroid free chicken for cheaper!!! And the customer service was awful. After initial complaint, it's been almost 4 weeks and I still have no resolution!!!
Not having ordered in awhile from BRF, Allen was very thorough + explained the packaging count when we filled our freezer. Everything looked fabulous and we started enjoying "home-cooked" meals again! DELICIOUS!
Excellent service as always! My freezer started acting up and y'all sent someone out as quickly as possible to look at it. Then replaced the little bit of meat that got ruined in the process! Thanks again for the help and care you show your customers! --Megan + John Presley
