I recently received chemical treatment from this salon. I received a relaxer, cut and style from Babe and she was absolutely great. I chose a style out of the Metro styles hair magazine that she had available. I was very pleased with the style that she created for me. I had narrowed it down to 2 different styles that I really liked and she created something based on what I showed her that I like best. The style she created for me is very manageable, and it compliments my face, my body build and personality. THE SALON: The salon has an urban flare with a professional’s touch of class. The colors of the salon express that the stylists have a lot of creativity and are very trendy with their creations. This is definitely an upscale salon; it's fresh, trendy, clean and very stylish. I like the atmosphere of the salon, I think because it is not surround by an array of other salons that it has a more intimate setting and feel. SERVICES: Babe's services were very professional she paid attention to what my needs were and what I wanted in a hairstyle, she listened to me, she was sincere about wanting me to have a style that I not only I would like but one that I desired and was very comfortable with. EQUIPMENT: The equipment in the salon is all twentieth century upscale, very trendy and stylish. The wash bowl where you receive your shampoo is so relaxing; the chair is comfortable and compatible for people of all sizes. I've never had such comfort in getting my hair shampooed before. The experience was totally relaxing. This is a total change from your average African American Hair Salon, this is more of a retreat from the hustle and bustle that we go through from day to day and the irritation and unsatisfactory that some have received from many other salons. It is a CUT above the REST. TIME MANAGEMENT: I think the stylist makes the most of her time and uses her time wisely. The stylist show great time management skills when dealing with her customers. I received a relaxer, cut and style and was only in the salon for 2 hours. The salon is very convenient to where I reside in Gwinnett County, it is only about a 25 minute drive from the Norcross Peachtree Corners area. WILL YOU RETURN? Yes, I will be a returning customer, before I left the salon I made an appointment for within 2 weeks. Thank you, Babe for raising the bar in the African American Beauty Salon. CharChar

My sister recommended Cynthia to me some years ago. She told me..."Cynthia's great Rick. She'll make you look like a star," which is just what I needed to hear. I was living and working in Las Vegas at the time and my look was important to my business, so I gave Cynthia a try. Cynthia listened (actually listened) to my concerns about how I felt I needed my hair to look and was able to give me a style that worked in the boardroom in the daytime and on stage at night - that perfect balance that, believe it or not, was a real challenge to find in Las Vegas. At that time, in the early nineties, I had to be in Georgia a lot, so it was only natural that I would use Cynthia but after several seasons of going to her (between salons in ' Vegas) I realized no one I had used since the seventies had done as good a job as Cynthia was doing now. I began arranging my trips to Atlanta based on her schedule as much as mine...yes I am vain about my looks, obviously. Is she expensive? Compared to what? The Hair Force chain, a $5 nightmare? The ditz down at Neiman-Marcus? Please! She might be a little pricey, but she beats all the competition in her neighborhood. Is she inconvenient? Well, for me she is - very. I now live in back in the south, but not Georgia, and I still jump through hoops to get in her chair...because I know when I get out of that chair my hair will look exactly how I want it to look. I am rarely (never) on stage anymore but I still have to go to the board meetings. When Cynthia is done with my hair I am ready to take on the world...because I know I have the best haircut in the world. That's how I feel and Cynthia neither asked for, nor paid for this review. I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am to have her as part of my staff.
I have being looking for a way to have longer hair (after loosing a lot of hair due to a bad service and stress) for quite sometime. Last time I tried 3 girls and a needle and I just waste money to have it take down the very same day because looked so horrible. I made an appointment for a consultation and after explain exacly what I was looking for Mrs. Genie told me she could deliver it. While she might be too honest and a little rough, she has a kind heart and feel happy when you are happy with the results. The technique she uses leaves some of your hair out, you have to be aware that you do have to take care of your own hair and make sure you either buy a VERY good hair someplace else or buy the hair in advance for her and make sure that it matches the lenght, texture and the color you are looking for. Be prepare to spend half or most of the day on the chair, you dont want have something done in one hour and look like you are wearing a wig... Genie iis knowledgeable and you can see the pictures on her website and on the new location of past clients that looks real good. She works by appointment only and if for some reason you can't make it I highly recommend that you let her know at least 3-4 business day in advance, as we do not like to waste time she doesnt either. I am a very picky person and she delivered what I was aiming for. You also need to have realistic expectations, while you should look for a skilled profissinal, you also have to consider that you are adding hair that is not yours and you need to treat you hair and the added hair with a lot of care. After the enhancement is done you can come back if something needs to be fixed, she is very good about it and try her best to accomodate her costumers needs.
I have been going to Adel & Gary's for over 30 years - with Gary as my hairstylist & Jackie as my colorist/chemical pro! Both--are the BEST in the business. Gary- knows how to DESIGN your hair to match your face. He is a sculpture that knows what style, hair length, color compliments your face. I have sent many friends and family to him to get a "make over". They have ALWAYS been completely AMAZED at the results. Jackie- is the chemical genius! My hair is always healthy and brilliant when I leave! (except the time that I messed up my hair on my OWN by trying to do my own hair at home--Ran to Jackie to help "undo" what I had done. She warned me that I should wait. After I begged her to fix it.. She added just a little correction coloring here and there-- It turned out GREAT! (only a little breakage because she was SO careful to choose the healthiest hair) I even get tons of compliments on my latest experiment -- I might get her to do it again-- However, next time, I would let HER do it from the beginning-- I almost caused all my hair to fall out doing it on my own! Eeekkk I would drive an HOUR to go to Adel & Gary's to get my cut and highlights -- But, luckily they are still close by. P.S. I hear "Tony" is also a good hair stylist-- haven't used him personally though.
I have never taken the time to write a review on a business before, but I had to share what a great experience I had at LA Hair. I have never had hair extensions before, but had wanted them for a very long time to enhance my brunette hair, which is fine, wavy, and frizzy in nature. I did my "google research" online for quite a while, and finally decided to visit Genie at LA Hair...I am SO GLAD I did!! She gave me exactly what I wanted - NATURAL looking extensions that look exactly like my hair, only much much better. When I went for my free consultation, I had been very impressed with how thorough she was in examining my hair, and finding the exact match of hair to use for my extensions. I also love the fact that you are the only client she works on, so you have her complete attention and privacy. As I sit here and write this review, I am in seventh heaven enjoying my new head of hair :-) They feel so comfortable on that there have been times I even forget they are in my hair! I highly recommend her to anyone considering hair enhancements - she knows so much about her profession, and shares her knowledge with you, so you come out completely educated on the process. I'm SO glad I did my research and found Genie! I plan on being a regular client of hers for a very long time!
I honestly decided to leave a review because i know there are others experiencing issues similar to me. I came to Uptown & saw Josie off of a site called styleseat.com. i had recently been tooken advantage of by 3girls&aneedle hair/service and wasnt sure who to trust. But simply by grace & mercy, i was led to Josie & had a wonderful experience. I got a full sewn in w/ closure using true indian hair (she believes in recommending quality vendors & not just trying to get over with bad batches). Pricey...yes...but worth it due to the quality of hair ordered (2 bundles & closure $315...will review hair as well) & she died bundles & installed for $250. She also cut layers into the beautifully dyed blk with subtle burgundy highlights (1st time trying color...was nervous...but came out great). Additionally, they were friendly, enjoyed gospel music in background (which i truly appreciated but later R&b was played), was not loud/ghetto/cursing going on...just really a cool environment. This is a real & true review by a female fed with Atlanta's abundance of hair vendors & stylist out here trying to collect on our hard earned money! Im DEFINITELY returning!
I did my research before flying into Atlanta GA from California and I was in need of a serious stylist that knows how to transform people into stars. I actually followed Beautii J's career history on you tubes and blogs which shows a lot from the fashion world, products, entertainment, hair and now educating up and coming stylist. I really wanted a master educator a women of her master craft in my hair. Beautii listened as to what my needs where and added a few suggestion and assist me in selecting the best Indian Hair that matches my natural hair as possible. When my weave was done, I felt and look like a mega star and I must say Beautii has turned my life around because I was picked for a role that is currently view on T.V. now. The staff is so friendly and nice. The staff work is superior as well, I have not seen any client leave unhappy. The shop appearance has a European decor that relaxes your mind. Rest assurance, I am pleased and I have found my long term stylist that not only services my weaves at the shop she also hooks me up on set. Thanks Beautii J...
We arrived at a little after 7pm in a Friday night. The place was busy but not ridiculously crowded. We were seated right away. The music was nice (from Bruno Mars to Janet Jackson) The service was outstanding! Justin, our server, thought we waited too long for our ramen. It didn't seem long to us as we were busy digging in on the delicious appetizers of Japanese fried chicken (yum) and braised pork belly (omg yum). Next thing we knew, Justin came over and told us he discounted part of our meal and apologized for the wait and then the manager brought us MORE complimentary pork belly! Seriously, we didn't think the wait was long at all! The appetizers were plenty for 2 of us. We ordered the mild curry ramen (a bit on the spicy side) and the spicy Wasabi ramen with shrimp added. Both were very tasty! The curry was spicier than I expected, but the curry flavors were spot on. We will definitely come back and I will recommend this place to my friends for sure!
This is a beautiful salon. It is decorated very nicely. I love my stylist which I followed from another salon. My last visit however was disappointing, not because of anything my stylist did but moreso how myself and the person that was with me were treated when we arrived. I can understand that the owner would like to keep her salon nice but not allowing a paying customer to bring anyone along for an appointment is bad business. My guest, who is also a client of my stylist was turned away at the door because she was not being serviced that particular day. We drove an hour and fifteen minutes only to not feel welcomed at the salon upon arrival. This was a complete turnoff. I can understand not allowing children in the salon unless they are being serviced. I can even understand not allowing more than one person to accompany a person with an appointment, but a person that is an actual client turned away at the door.... humm. I can see why the salon is empty.
I have been going to Spoiled Opulence for 6 years! They do all types of hair, and specialize in natural hair and weaves. My professional hair stylist is Danie and she is AWESOME!! She has done all types of styles with my hair including sew in weaves, highlights, and coloring! She also straightens(silk press) my natural hair and people cant believe I dont have a perm. She cares about keeping my hair healthy and advises how to properly take care of it in between visits! She goes over and beyond by suggesting alternatives if I want to do something that can damage my hair & it ALWAYS comes out PERFECT!! I am always pleased with her service and my hair when I leave.Overall this cute, chic salon offers professional and efficient services. The stylists will get you out quickly without compromising the quality of your service. On average, my visits last from 90 minutes to about two hours depending on the type of servcie that I'm receiving.
