I honestly decided to leave a review because i know there are others experiencing issues similar to me. I came to Uptown & saw Josie off of a site called styleseat.com. i had recently been tooken advantage of by 3girls&aneedle hair/service and wasnt sure who to trust. But simply by grace & mercy, i was led to Josie & had a wonderful experience. I got a full sewn in w/ closure using true indian hair (she believes in recommending quality vendors & not just trying to get over with bad batches). Pricey...yes...but worth it due to the quality of hair ordered (2 bundles & closure $315...will review hair as well) & she died bundles & installed for $250. She also cut layers into the beautifully dyed blk with subtle burgundy highlights (1st time trying color...was nervous...but came out great). Additionally, they were friendly, enjoyed gospel music in background (which i truly appreciated but later R&b was played), was not loud/ghetto/cursing going on...just really a cool environment. This is a real & true review by a female fed with Atlanta's abundance of hair vendors & stylist out here trying to collect on our hard earned money! Im DEFINITELY returning!
I did my research before flying into Atlanta GA from California and I was in need of a serious stylist that knows how to transform people into stars. I actually followed Beautii J's career history on you tubes and blogs which shows a lot from the fashion world, products, entertainment, hair and now educating up and coming stylist. I really wanted a master educator a women of her master craft in my hair. Beautii listened as to what my needs where and added a few suggestion and assist me in selecting the best Indian Hair that matches my natural hair as possible. When my weave was done, I felt and look like a mega star and I must say Beautii has turned my life around because I was picked for a role that is currently view on T.V. now. The staff is so friendly and nice. The staff work is superior as well, I have not seen any client leave unhappy. The shop appearance has a European decor that relaxes your mind. Rest assurance, I am pleased and I have found my long term stylist that not only services my weaves at the shop she also hooks me up on set. Thanks Beautii J...
I will ALWAYS refer Aicha, she will be my official hair braider for life!. She is professional because my hair look like a million dollars, it hasn't even been 24 hours (got it done yesterday 04/18/13 from 4pm-9:30pm) and I have gotten several compliments. She gave me a time frame of 5 to 51/2 hours to do micro-braids with 100% human hair (that she provided) and finished on time with spectacular results at a fraction of what others charge. (I do not want to tell the price in case she changes her rates but it was extremely reasonable) The only con is she works from home (which is why she offers low rates) but she was very friendly and I was comfortable. She was able to give me individualized attention and focused on me since she was not in a business environment. I wish I could add a picture because my hair looks great. If you are looking for authentic African hair braider in the Atlanta Metro Area (Conyers) call Aicha. Her contact information on this site has changed (404) 285-5281 and tell her Tonisha referred you.
I am African-American of fair complexion and after reading the reviews of The Ageless Center, I was still split 50/50. What made me decide to go in was the positive reviews were from individuals who had gone there multiple times for years and the negative reviews seem to be one off occurrences. With that said, I took a chance. Dr. explained the procedures and took a modest approach with a follow up in a week to review the results. In my case, my symptoms were minor. I needed correction for under eye bags and botox, preventive maintenance. Dr. Solomon moves swift & effectively. I hate needles, I felt some pinches enough for me to grunt, but not because he's heavy handed, it's because I'm a wuss. By the time I was ready to object or say let's take a break, he was done. I sucked it up, took my arnica, saw immediate results, and went home to eat pineapple, sleep on my back, ice my eye, and take the Arnica. I had minimal to no bruising and awesome results 5 days in. Will return.
We arrived at a little after 7pm in a Friday night. The place was busy but not ridiculously crowded. We were seated right away. The music was nice (from Bruno Mars to Janet Jackson) The service was outstanding! Justin, our server, thought we waited too long for our ramen. It didn't seem long to us as we were busy digging in on the delicious appetizers of Japanese fried chicken (yum) and braised pork belly (omg yum). Next thing we knew, Justin came over and told us he discounted part of our meal and apologized for the wait and then the manager brought us MORE complimentary pork belly! Seriously, we didn't think the wait was long at all! The appetizers were plenty for 2 of us. We ordered the mild curry ramen (a bit on the spicy side) and the spicy Wasabi ramen with shrimp added. Both were very tasty! The curry was spicier than I expected, but the curry flavors were spot on. We will definitely come back and I will recommend this place to my friends for sure!
This is a beautiful salon. It is decorated very nicely. I love my stylist which I followed from another salon. My last visit however was disappointing, not because of anything my stylist did but moreso how myself and the person that was with me were treated when we arrived. I can understand that the owner would like to keep her salon nice but not allowing a paying customer to bring anyone along for an appointment is bad business. My guest, who is also a client of my stylist was turned away at the door because she was not being serviced that particular day. We drove an hour and fifteen minutes only to not feel welcomed at the salon upon arrival. This was a complete turnoff. I can understand not allowing children in the salon unless they are being serviced. I can even understand not allowing more than one person to accompany a person with an appointment, but a person that is an actual client turned away at the door.... humm. I can see why the salon is empty.
This review is both personal and professional. I found Dr. Liu because I do research on ancient cures. Quite simply Dr. Liu is one of the best doctors in the world-and we are fortunate to have him here in Atlanta. Western medicine is no match for what this man knows in his mind, hands and heart. I reached out to him and he reached back. Dr. Liu has become a special part of me and my husband's life. I met him when my mother's life was coming to an end. He could have saved her only if we had known each other then. Since that time I have put my future heath in his hands and he has also helped me deal with the pain of her death in many ways. I now share his information with anyone who needs the best health care and encourage people to see him. To all who read this post please know Dr. Liu is both a gifted doctor and a remarkable human being. My best to Dr. Liu and his family always. A devoted patient and friend-Jawana V. Jackson
Sonya was nice, the shop was decent, but my problem was that they up-charged me from what Fatima quoted on the phone. And every time myself or another customer asked for the price of something they had to talk amongst themselves in a foreign language and Fatima (owner) decided on the price. I'm like how do you have to discuss the price for something!!! The prices should be set. So led me to believe they changed the prices based on the traffic flow for the day. And it was empty. I also requested to have my ends clipped & after Sonya had play time cutting in my hair Fatima came and I guess did it correctly w/a small tooth comb on natural hair! Hair 101 No No! I wish I could say I would recommended someone here but I would not. I looked at their hair books and most pics were dated & magazine tear-out pics instead of their actual work. So It wasn't a horrible experience, but I was not satisfied.
Everyone here is so sweet and welcoming. They all work in a family type of setting, where each stylist learns and has the same capabilities for various hair services. Before starting my service, Staren, my stylist, showed me around the salon, and provided me with a clean black robe. Upon returning to her booth, she inquired what I wanted my final look to be and the amount of length I would be comfortable with. After the relaxing shampoo massage, she went to work. Other friendly stylist came over and watched as she transformed my long locks into a super cute trendy short, long bobb. Although I told myself I did not need any more hair products, I could not help but get some of the amazing Orbe products that made my fine, thin hair bouncy and full without feeling crunchy and hard. FYI...It's now 11 hours later from when I had my hair done, and it still looks bouncy, soft, and full.
I've been looking for someone to thread my eyebrows perfect, and to give me a great arch. I had Priya do my eyebrows, and she is the BEST at the salon. She takes her time to perfect your arch, give you pointers on keeping them up, has a great personality, is professional, and is soooooooooo sweet! She is patient, listens to exactly what you want, and does exactly what you want! I love her, and she is officially my new eyebrow threader here in Atlanta. I've been to a few other people here that thread eyebrows, and they always seem to mess up my eyebrows. Priya takes pride in her work, and she DO NOT RUSH arching your eyebrows which is (A PLUS) with me. Your eyebrows make up your entire face, and with a good brow you rule the world! lol!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSS! Priya slays, and have me slaying now! #teampriya I love her so! :)
