Highly recommend for a night out with sweetheart and really helpful for a singles. I love the bakery part of the whole thing and absolutely love to have some great coffee. Bar is impressive and there is nothing better than a night or morning spend right there..

Love, love, love their gourmet soul food! Their menu is a little pricey $$ but its worth the plate. My favorite is their signature buttermilk fried chicken,I am also fan of their dressing. Be prepared the diner is very small for large parties but the urban vibe and historic location makes this one great place- lunch for two or to go order.
Poor customer service, notably from the newer, younger guy with all of the bracelets on his wrists and a flag hanging from his pocket - is that a thing? Is that sanitary at a coffee shop?I had hoped that this coffeeshop would do well since its been there so long - 10 years I believe. But when you walk in and the young guy at the counter doesn't speak to you and you are the only customer - then something is seriously wrong with their customer service. I have watched him have issues with customers in the morning, and then when the owner walks in, he presents the issue to the owner as if the customer was at fault. Crazy. As a foodie and a coffee snob, I would recommend that you try Revelator or Drip. I like Revelator for their minimalist vibe. I also love Drip and the people there are at lot nicer than the Urban Grind. :) Condessa was nice also - I visited their location which is closer to Georgia State University.By the way, I have frequented the Urban Grind for 10 years. And some of the reviews listed here are correct. The Urban Grind can be cozy. But customer service and cleanliness are issues if you really look behind that counter when certain baristas are working. The OGs are nice for the most part. This shop is past its prime and has become more of an event space than a place where you go and enjoy coffee. What's good about the Urban Grind: Going on a slow day and sitting towards the back in one of the new high top seats and staring out the window and letting time pass by.So although service is piss poor -notably with the newer guy - the Urban Grind does have some good features.
You could have had a V-8. The Urban Grind is a coffeeshop turned event space past its prime and unable to keep up with growth of West Midtown. New bratty barista in the mornings takes the ambiance away from what was a nice compliment to the nationally known coffeeshop down the street. Its not the place for coffee, but they do have good events. Old achool staff are nice. New staff need their diaper changed. Drip and Revelator are better choices for tgose who enjoy the essence of a coffeeshop. Check food inspection numbers at the Urban Grind and the last time they has an inspection.
Tasty food.Extremely slow service.Restaurant would do well to prepare ahead of events in the area for the influx of additional patrons.
I loved this place, the food was hot and good. The service was excellent, keep in mind that your food is cooked to order. I had the shrimp and grits dish. Delicious. I will go back again and again!!! It has a bistro feel. Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
While the chicken was banging this was THE WORST experience ever!!! Horrible service, bathrooms were disgusting, had to get our own condiments from the server station, orders were wrong, bill was wrong and the manager acted like he had no clue what was going on. Stay far far away from this place!!!!!Do you think Gladys knows??
Inman Perk is a great little coffeeshop in Inman Park. It's a perfect place to get some work done or just sit outside with a breakfast sandwich and an iced coffee.I especially dig their breakfast - much cheaper than other options around and still great. Sandwiches are made by default with egg whites, which is a nice touch. The food always does take FOREVER to come out, though, so if you're in a hurry it might be better to head somewhere else.
Perfect spot for breakfast alone, brunch with friends or dinner with boo. The biscuits must be made with some type of mind control agent because they are remarkable. The chicken sausage gravy is like the sunlight in your room after a storm. Simply refreshing. The service is great and the decor makes me want to sit on a cloud.
a sweet neighborhood spot whose coffee drinks are just a little less than great. love that they have a dog area. have not been in the afternoon but might be a cozy spot for a beer.
