I took a bridesmaids dress there to be altered and needed it within a week. They said it could be done. Before leaving I was told it was $60. Went to pick up the dress 6 days after dropping it off and they added another $20 to the bill without letting me know from the beginning. The bill for the alteration was almost as much as the bridesmaid dress itself
I bought some slacks for a last minute trip to DC. The Banana Republic salesperson suggested Davis Alterations to me and I could not have been more pleased. The work was perfect and performed in much less time and for less than the Alterations I had been using. I will absolutely be back!
I know that since the person who's review dated in 2011 was done that this place has changed ownership. The people who own and operate it now are great! I took my step daughter there last minute to have her prom dress fitted, and they were polite, professional and fast. They did charge a fee to move her dress up I in the line of orders they already had, but I would expect no less. The work was done quickly, and the dress looked great and fit perfectly. I have taken other items to them as well that were less important than that and gotten just as good of service. I recommend them to anyone looking for alterations and I will continue to do so.
I recently took my Army Service Uniform to Davis Alterations, and I could not have made a bigger mistake. Lawana Davis was rude, performed low-quality work, and vastly overcharged. She demanded over $100 for the alterations, despite the fact that other shops would do the same work for 1/4 of the price and she had earlier quoted me a lower price. Several of the seams are crooked, and I will need to take my uniform to another shop to have them fixed.
I wrote a response to this review on Google under Davis Alterations if anyone would be interested. Thanks!
