Delicious great food, this location doesn't serve alcohol but the food makes up for that. It's seat yourself and clean up after yourself but still so good. Allows dogs outside
Delicious food, it's seat yourself but they're good about clearing tables quickly and great margaritas
Excellent!!! Bring your appetite. Plentiful food, beautiful decor and efficient service. Child friendly. Lotz of distractions for children.
Bad management. They didn't know the menu... Ordered a Torta Cubana and they insisted it was a Cubana, but was a entirely different Torta. Management confronted us, the customer, and didn't know how to handle the complaint, and never apologized. Charged us full price even though we complained several times. Poor service, AND Hostess was not wearing underwear.
Love the choices of meats and veggies. Staff is outstanding.
its not the best place to get tacos in Athens, but its pretty good. Make sure you go on a pretty day because I think its all outdoor seating.
I believe this is the restaurant that now goes by the name SR. Sol. if so, it is absolutely delicious! I love it here and the service is excellent as well.
Been going here for over 30 years and sad to say it has gone downhill. You can almost count on your order being wrong for the last couple of years. Food used to be great, especially for vegetarians like myself, but it is disgustingly gross to bite into a bean burrito deluxe and get a big mouthful of meat when you haven't eaten beef for over 30 years. Won't be going back.
Sr. Sol is the best Mexican food in Athens. It's a little misleading that the restaurant name is Taqueria El Sol De Zacatecaz and not Sr. Sol. It's the same place. But when you mention to your friend that you went to a great Mexican place they always say, "Oh, Sr. Sol next to the gas station?" Yep, that's the place.I've been looking for authentic Baja style Mexican food since leaving San Diego in the early '90s and I had to go to Georgia to find it. I love going there for their tacos. I like the lingua (tongue) tacos as well as the barbacoa tacos. But the fish tacos, which are grilled and authentic, are to die for. Three tacos is all I need to fill me up, though their beans and rice - if you get a full plate entree - are good, too. It's a bit hard to find parking, and you may need to eat outside if it's busy, so plan appropriately. They do offer great margarita specials, too. I especially like their peach ones! And their freshly made chips and salsa are addicting. It's a great place to bring the kids as they have a large variety of choices on the menu and you can order plates for big appetites and a la carte for smaller ones. We mistakenly let my daughter order the veggie nachos, and she had it for breakfast and lunch the next day.Great prices, very casual, yummy food, nice waitstaff, good booze and crazy Mexican sodas. What else do you need?
Delicioso! Yes, Virginia, there is Cuban food in Georgia!First, make sure to have cash or your checkbook with you as Cali-N-Tito's does not accept credit or debit cards. Second, I hope you're hungry because the portions are HUGE. I had an amazing Cuban fried rice with chicken and fried plantains, most of which I had to take home and have for breakfast the next day. Really terrific. My son had a Cuban sandwich, which he devoured and my husband the fish tacos. The decor is really fun and very casual - sort of beach bum extraordinaire. It reminds me of a lot of Mexican joints down in Baja. It's also a very kid friendly place as they have a playground and boats sunk into the ground that kids can "steer" and play on.This is not a place to come when the weather's bad, so if you're jones for Cuban style food (not super authentic but tasty so you don't mind) get your order to go.I've heard you can BYOB, though there is a fee. And they have all kinds of crazy soda flavors, like pineapple as well as the usual Coke and Fanta products. Great prices, too. Can't wait for it to cool down a bit to go back!
