Wow. What a fantastic place. I was on the hunt for a cannoli spot and boy was I glad that I found this place! I agree with the review below! What a great cannoli! I even brought them home for my boyfriend and he too loved the cannolis! I am going to be coming back for more!

I go here a couple of times a week for a slice or to get something to go. The pizza and food are amazing!
What I have found to be a bit disappointing is that, like some others have mentioned here, some of the wait staff can be rude/obnoxious/lazy. The last time I sat for a meal my waiter was Luis and he couldn't have been more unpleasant. If I ever go again I will request a different waiter.

I ate there for the first time in 2002 when I moved into the area. I thought it was very good (would have recommended it to others)but a little on the expensive side. I continued to go there occasionally usually for the pizza. On my most recent visit it just didn't seem the same. I don't know if it has changed owners/management, but I was very disappointed!! The pizza was really lacking cheese, the slices seemed smaller, and the service was bad. I will not go back. As for the people who say it is the best pizza in NYC, they must not get out often. I know good pizza and it is in Brooklyn, not Queens.

You know its good when Tony Bennett and his friends eat there. I saw him there a couple months back and those guys are as Italian as it gets! The seafood is great, pizza is amazing, pasta is yum! A bit pricey but its a nice place and the service is great. I been to Italy a few times, the food here compares nicely. Taste fresh and not defrosted like the other places.

I live across the street from Sac's, and was totally ecstatic to have a new fine dining Italian restaurant in the neighborhood when it opened. And then I ate there. The food was generic and lackluster (were talkin' frozen cheapo calamari generic, in fact the calamari at Sanford's diner up the block greatly outdoes Sac's in quality), and generally oversalted. Now the brick oven pizza is actually mighty tasty, and would have saved the restaurant for me, had it not been for the excruciating prices. I spent (and this is no exaggeration) $52 on two small pizzas and an appetizer. Sure I had some toppings like garlic and anchovies, but I think anyone would agree prices like that are ridiculous. If Sac's can get it's act together, and lower it's prices, I would be keen on buying their brick oven pizza more often... but I think I will continue to avoid the calamari

This is a tough one. A perfect example of having to chose what's more important to you. The waitstaff can be downright arrogant, abnoxious and RUDE. The food... ? It's delicious. I'm disheartened that Louise or whatever his name is, gets away with being arrogant and lazy with people. The other staff working were hard-workers and seemed very friendly. Please please please, bring some of those guys up front - give Louise a break. He told us of his 13-years and quite frankly, it's too long. I never feel compelled to point out someone's bad day, but he's had a bad month or so, because we go in once a week and see how he abruptly takes orders and barely acknowledges that you're HUMANS ordering food. He barely cracks a smile (and we've tried) and makes you feel bad for asking for a refill, another beer or more bread. (REALLY!?!?!?) Ugh. Sorry Sac's, I'm taking a break.

Look the service is not the best ,prices a little high but the FOOD is GREAT.The Sacramones are great owners and very freindly .Domenico is the man to ask about wine, Anthony is the best man to talk to and understands what you want. He will have you in stiches. I think its a great place to have dinner .So go try it you will enjoy yourself .

The coal-oven pizza is perfect in texture and taste. The rigatoni filetto pomodore is perhaps the most flavorful pasta dish I've ever had. There's a thoughtfully created wine list and nightly specials for steak, chops and fish. The restaurant has a cozy neighborhood feel and terrific service. I've tried all the great pizzerias and Italian restaurants in New York. This is the one I keep coming back to.

Three of us were in Astoria and wanted a pie and a pitcher of beer. So we tried Sac's. What could warrant a $27 sausage pizza? Not ambience; Sac's doesn't have any. One side of the place is very below average slice slinger decor. The ""restaurant"" side has either a small dark area or a cold plexi-glassed sidewalk area. All in all, the place does not strike you as exceedingly clean. As a few people have already mentioned, you don't go there for the service. The waiters are more interested in talking with each other than bringing you your food. The biggest insult, however, was that the $27 specialty coal-oven pizza wasn't even freshly made. Judging by the chewy texture of the very thin crust, that baby had been sitting around waiting to be reheated. When it was brought to the table it was warm -- not piping hot as you may expect a fresh pizza. By the time you took the second slice, it was cold. The only thing that deserves 5 stars is the utter audacity the owners have to charge what they do for a less than mediocre dining experience.

Great food, but if you get delivery, be prepared to wait, a very long time. I waited for an hour and 15 minutes until I cancelled my order. The delivery guy showed up an hour and a half after I ordered. The food is good but not worth wasting an hour and a half waiting.

My wife and I ate here many years ago, and since we were in the area last Saturday, we decided to try it again. Parking, like all around Astoria, was a nightmare, and took forever. The place decor is very basic, but is very cozy. Service was the worst I seen in years. The waiter was too busy talking with his friends, and after taking our order, kept on chatting instead of taking the orders to the kitchen. A soda took over 10 minutes to be brought. After waiting an eternity for the dessert menu, we just asked for the check. Food was great, but since the service was so bad, it was very hard to enjoy it.

Come on people get real, the food is good but certainly not worth 5 stars. The pizza is good, again not great. I will give it 3 stars. This is a pizza place with seating. If you want to dine out, see my suggestion below:
Try Manettas in LIC. There you will find both great food and pizza plus, the atmosphere is much nicer for dining in.

Pizza the old fashion way, you can just taste the sauce from the aromas, I prefer little less cheese and well done. I am easily swayed for the homemade pastas, the lasagna (every other week) rivals any here and Italy. The staff is a little slow at times but never a big deal.

Our ""go-to"" neighborhood place. Whenever we want consistency and a delicious meal, we'll choose Sac's. It's unfortunate that some reviewers have had unpleasant experiences, as we've had tasty food and welcoming staff every single time. The owner personally walks around to meet, greet and bus tables. We ALWAYS get the same server, Milton, who takes care of us like family and memorizes how I like certain dishes.
We opt for the enclosed patio for a quieter, less family style feel, even when we bring guests (which is frequent). Try the caprese salad and the gnocchi!

I take many big parties there and it is always a 10 as far as food and service. Best situation is to just let the owners feed your table family style. allow them to be creative. 1 of the owners Anthony is a character out of a Sopranos episode and Domenic has one of the most sophisticated wine palates i've expierence at any price range.... Don't go there and order veal parma... I've been there with execs from food network and they were all amazed, satisfied and have been back. that is a tough jaded crowd to please ! again i repeat for the full expierience allow the owner to take you out of your comfort zone and let them create a wonderful expierence for you that is beyond just anothet italian meal...... They want to please their customers.... most of them regulars on a first name basis....

The comments of the last reviewer are right on the beam. My wife and I have given this place three chances and all three were a nightmare. First time, they brought the wrong pizza to the table -- and it was stone cold. Second visit, we requested dessert menus from the very unfriendly waitress -- she disappeared, never really to return as we sat there for at least fifteen minutes and then paid our check at the counter and left. Third visit, were led to a table where the waitstaff (not kidding here) lean against a pillar almost up against the table. Can't describe how uncomfortable this made us feel. We requested another table but were refused. We walked out without ordering. Don't feel good about writing this one. This is a neighborhood place for us and I hate to knock home. But I have to tell it like it is.

I had always walked by the restaurant since its in my neighborhood, and it looked like a really cozy, attractive place to eat. I finally stopped in one night with some friends who were visiting, and we had a rather uncomfortable dining experience. It was around 6:30PM on a wednesday, and the place was pretty much empty, and a busboy standed about three feet from our table during the entire meal, staring at the table, which was rather akward. But the pizza was terriffic, also the calamari. When we paid, the waiter did not understand that the 40 dollars I had given him were for the bill, and the credit card was to take care of the rest of the meal, even though I carefully explained it. So when I got the check back to sign, the money was gone, but my credit card had been charged for the full amount. I tried to explain that he needed to give us the cash back or refund the credit card fr the amount. In the end, it was confusing and I was really shocked by the waitstaff's bizarre behavior. I will definitely order delivery next time.
