The salad I ordered was missing some ingredients listed on the menu but had the ingredient that I specifically requested to be left out. After sending my husband home with the wrong pick up order and then yelling at me with accusations of misleading them to receive free food, they delivered the wrong size replacement salad.. I called them, once again, and the miserable female on the phone asked that I not waste their time. ALL I ASKED FOR WAS THE MEAL ORIGINALLY ORDERED. No matter the price! If we were charged less due to a mistake in the ordering process, then make an adjustment and correct the order. A customer doesn't want to hear your loud mouth excuses as to why or how the order got mixed up and we certainly don't want to be accused of tricking for free food!
MIKE'S DINER, I appreciate the debit reimbursement. As per your request... it will be my pleasure to turn my business and money elsewhere! GUS, I am sorry you have to deal with your rude and incompetent staff. Good luck to you.

I've been here I dunno how many times over the 3 yrs I've lived in astoria. Alot.
Price? Quality? Service? It's fluctuates
I've gone in and it's been fast good cheap and easy.
And I've ordered a burger fries n a shake and was charged $18 plus a $5 tip cause the delivery person ripped me off with the wrong change and took n hr to get to me. But people.. it's Mike's!
Mike's is like that wierd uncle nobody really talks about.
Sometimes he's cool and tells you a story about his time in the war and sometimes he walks around in his underwear and a sailor cap during thanksgiving dinner. It's awkward but familiar.

I just got home from Mike's diner and since the manager didn't care about my complaint I figured I would share it with the world. LOL> I never got 2 of the things I ordered but I was charged for them. I asked for Honey mustard for my fries three times and never got it. My friend' salad was disgusting because when he ordered the ceasar they forgot the dressing and when he asked for dressing it was drown in dressing. Customer service is horrible. When I told the manager about the service and missing food she said, ""Don't tip him, he'll learn his lesson. "" What kind of answer is that ? I hope you guys make it through this economic crisis. It seems that customer service should be top notch in these times so that you get repeat business.

i order from this place all the time and they are inconsistent with their dishes. somethings there is very little food in the order or the food is cold. and other times it is great food, especially their chicken salad sandwiches.crappy customer service over the phone, even to the point of being extremely rude. plus i ordered a soda with my order the other night and never received and when i called to let them know that they had forgotten my soda (i was nice about it too) they accused me of lying. then they finally said that they would send it over but i am still waiting. i think i will not be ordering from them for a while so that they might learn some customer service. they will miss my ordering since my roommate and i order from there at least once a week. anyway good food if you want to go sit down there but i dont recommend for ordering out.

We were seated right away. Waiters were friendly and efficient. That first cup of coffee was exactly what I needed and the Mexican omelet was perfect. I disagree with some of the reviews, I received excellent table service. The decor was another story but it is a diner and that's part of the charm. I would definitely recommend Mike?s Diner for an inexpensive no nonsense breakfast/brunch.

Waiting for a table wasn't too bad. We were seated within 20 minutes. Service was horrible. We had a waitor who rushed our orders. He didn't even ask for our drink choices. Feeling pressured to order i chose a grilled chicken wrap. Food came pretty quickly but not that great. My grilled chicken sandwich was supposed to include coleslaw and a pickle, but for some unkown reason came with only the wrap. What was worse was that I found a hair in my chicken wrap. At that moment I was disgusted and knew that I wouldn't return. Our original waitor hadn't come back after delivering our food, so we consulted another waitor. He was younger and much more polite and calm. He actually was nice enough to not include the price of the chicken wrap. Overall experience.... horrible!

Hey, if you're in the neighborhood and you are absolutely starving, then walk over to the Neptune Diner on 24th Ave. If you need delivery, you'll have to call on Mike's.
Mike's Diner is easily one of the worst diners I have ever come across. The food is almost as bad as the service. The prices do not justify what you get; which is terrible, but it's the only place open after 4 a.m.
Here's a tip: don't order the home fries. They are tasteless. If you were to pick up a raw potato out of the ground and start chewing it would have the same flavor as Mike's home fries. Get used to pouring that ketchup, son. You'll need a lot of it. I'm not a man who adds salt to my meal; Mike's diner made me want to add a meal to my salt.
By the way, this isn't some half-cocked ""I got abused by a waiter and now I'm going to defame the whole restaurant"" type of review. I have lived in the neighborhood for five years, and Mike's Diner has been consistently terrible. I have been there on many occasions and every time I was dissatisfied with the food and exasperated by the service; which is terrible, by the way. Seriously, if you have any other option; take it.
Again, if you are absolutely starving and it is three in the morning, stop being so lazy and walk over to the Neptune Diner which is far better. If you need delivery in the wee hours you're out of luck. Mike's is all you got. Or you could just cook for yourself. Believe me, you couldn't possibly do any worse.

I went in on a Sunday morning with a friend, on the recommendation that the carry-out food was good. We tried to get the waiter's attention after sitting for 20 minutes. He gave us dirty looks before finally coming over and saying ""yeah?"" The food ended up being good, but not enough to offset not getting our toast, never getting drink refills and having the waiter act rude toward us. When we asked to speak to a manager, he didn't seem to care that we were unhappy. So we sat another 10 minutes before getting our bill and paying for food we didn't get.
DO NOT go here if you expect service because they don't care.

This place isn't good. The service is terrible, the cooks are lazy and not very good, and nobody seems to care because the locals get A-1 treatment.
Orders are regularly messed up by the incompetent kitchen staff. The wait staff, including the owners daughter, who makes a good case against nepotism, are only good when speaking Greek (i.e. to the locals).
Examples of bad service: when the waiter gets the order wrong and tells you that's what you ordered. They refuse to write anything down, which is standard for experienced diner wait staff, but when you can't get it right, write it down.
Exception: A woman named Donna works the counter most evenings and she is friendly and gives great service. Also, the split pea and fisherman's soups are very good. Generally though, if you don't speak Greek, stay away!
Try the Belaire on 21st (best) or the Neptune on 31st and Astoria Blvd. (okay) as local alternatives.

Mike's Diner is the best 24 hour diner in the area because it is the only one! The other diners nearby close early and this place seems to be only option at times. The delivery has been varied from so-so to terrible. There needs to be more variety in the area.
