Terrible. Rude to customers. Just skip this place.
I was a regular Customer until tonight 1/2/2014. I would order from Nine Mile at least 3 times per week for my family. At times we would dine in. I love the food it's great and the two owners are nice. However after what happened tonight I will not be back. I went in to sit down and eat with my daughter who is 5. There was open tables but I had no problem ordering and taking it with me being that there were people in line behind me possibly wanting to be seated. The staff member (female) looked around as if there was no where to sit us. So I said you know don't worry I could place the order, wait on the car or wherever and come back and get it. She confirmed and said okay. Then she held a short conversation with a coworker. Then stated actually were not doing to go orders right now. I responded by saying well you do have open tables but being that the restaurant is busy I told you I could take it to go and you said okay. Etc... Next they wanted to put me on a waiting list in which they referred to it as the list. I also told her that I was once a regular Customer. That after this I would never be back. Honestly I've called before to place a to go order and was told that they are not taking to go orders right then. I had no problem with that on either occasion. I just called another restaurant. So after leaving tonight I decided that my concern required a managers attention. I called back into the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager. At this time a gentleman had answered the phone and replied no you cannot. To assure I heard him correctly and he heard me I repeated the question. He replied again no you cannot. As I started to respond he cut me off and asked if he could take a message. I said sure, gave my name and was attempting to leave the message. He hung up in my face. I called back because sometimes we have no control over the disconnection of a phone call. I received no answer, called back again the phone was picked up and hung up immediately. I own and operate multiple businesses. When my customers (tourist) ask what's the best place to eat in Asheville I tell them Nine Mile. Not only that we discuss my favorite dishes and how friendly the staff are. I'm not here to give them a bad name. However this is highly unprofessional. Maybe there new staff members but most faces were familiar. You would think that they would have done everything possible to accommodate me. Hopefully they decide to change how they serve customers. Otherwise etc. The professional thing would have been for the staff never to confirm the to go order and offer to place me on the waiting list if she could not sit us at the available tables because no one was in front of me waiting. So who do you serve first? Great Customer Service is the key because word of mouth is the best form of advertisement!
