Average. Decided to give this place a try on our trip to Asheville, after reading the top restaurants from online. The decor was mediocre. Quaint, but nice. The hostess was friendly and greeted us warmly. There were two other couples in the restaruant on the Wednesday night we arrived, and rightfully so we were seated immediately. The server approached our table to greet us, and then stated she was going to grab menus and silverware (remember, only two other couples in the restaurant) which took well over five minutes because we noticed her having an informal conversation with the hostess...what ever could they have been talking about? The beer and wine selection were both adequate and to our liking. We started with the Calamria for an appetizer, and I would have to agree with the previous persons review about over-breading and lack of taste. Our entrees, (pollo piccatta alla veneziana , pollo saltimbocca, capelli d'angelo pasta) were reasonably priced, but lacked flavor and were served luke warm. None of the entrees were anything that we hadn't experienced elsewhere and with better results. We did not stay for dessert. The best part of the evening was the guitar player, "Mark", who did a great job of setting the mood with nice renditions of James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, and others. Again, an average night, but umfortunately not one that we will repeat.
We live very near this restaurant, which is no longer Savoy, but is indeed called Vinnie's. Italian food. I can't say enough good things about this place. The last time we ate there, the service wasn't as good as usual, but it was still excellent! The pizza fell on the floor when put on that tray on the table, but the hostess or our server immediately took care of this mishap. In past visits, and with this last one, right when we walk in the door we feel welcomed, enthusiastically welcomed! The place is always busy and we can tell that the people eating here are mostly locals like us, which often means that Vinnie's is doing something right. The food is simply excellent too. Order anything and you'll love it. But honestly, it's the service that has kept us coming back. Just to let you know, I don't have any connections of any kind to this restaurant, but just want to see these good people continue to thrive. More restaurants should follow Vinnie's service practices.
Wow was delivery fast and the food was surprising good. I've had Domino's in the past and never been too fond of it, but their prices were better than the others in the area, so I decided to try them again. They definitely updated their recipes so that they pizza is more tasty and they have a really cool feature if you place your order online - you track it each step of the way. They delivered in under 30 mins to the Days Inn and our order was correct and the food was good.
I am not a hateful person, however I was very disappointed . The food was VERY visually appealing but just lacked in the flavor dept. The Italian dressing was weaker than soggy white bread. I had to add salt to it to make it palatable. :(. Also the large " house salad " had two slices of cucumber and NO tomatoes or olives or cheese? The entree again was poor in he flavor department. Frank... The devil is in the details!!
If you want Italian food in Asheville, this is the place to go! Their menu features fresh local seasonal dish specials... and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's all fantastic! Their warm service and cozy atmosphere have you feel like you've been a part of the "family" forever. They also feature a great selection of wine and local brews.
hands down the BEST vegan eats in AVL! Tempelo Wings are a staple for me! the Ginger/Chocolate Chip cookies are awesome! They even have a meal where the $ is donation-based...that is so ALL living beings can have a hot meal when needed. LOVE Love love this place! I'd give them 10☆ if I could! ♡♥♡♥♡♥
I tried the calamari appetizer, hesitate to pay $11.00 (Higher than anywhere else I have ate calamari)But,they look great on the pic.Thought I would try anyway.Definitely didn't look like the picture.I was given mostly tentacles instead.Taste was good, but was soggy & abit greasy.
IF U WANT HAND MADE PIZZA AND NOT SOME PREMADE FROZEN CRAP THEN MELLOW MUSHROOM IS FOR YOU. BEST PIZZA AROUND THE AREA. AVERAGE WAIT TIME IS 30 MINUTES BUT WELLLLL WORTH THE WAIT. OVER 100 DIFFERENT BEERS AS WELL. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Best italian around this area! I found their food to be as authentic as possible. The staff and service are wonderful and it is definitely a place I will recommend to my family and friends.
Frank's Roman is by far the BEST PIZZA in Asheville. I go here every time I'm in Asheville. The service, atmosphere, and the quality of the pizza makes this a place outstanding.
