Established in 1987 by the merger of Asheville Country Day School and St. Genevieve, Carolina Day School is an independent, coeducational and nonsectarian school offering a college preparatory curriculum and enrolling students in grades kindergarten through 12. Carolina Day School is one school made up of four divisions, the lower school that enrolls students in prekindergarten through grade five, and the key school, for students in grades one through eight with language-based learning differences. It also comprises the middle school for students in grades six through eight, and the upper school, for students in grades nine through 12. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies, computer studies and art. It offers various sports programs as well, including soccer, basketball, hockey, tennis, track and meet, football, volleyball cross-country, swimming and cheerleading. Carolina Day School is located in Asheville, N.C.
