Great service! My line to the sewer was clogged and all the water from the house was flowing into the yard. Rooter King made it out that day and cleaned it out in about 45 min.. Tim was great, friendly and professional, he even cleaned the area when done. Awesome! They will go on my permanent call list.

Overall

Horrendous communication, blatant disregard for my requests, and dishonest business practices are why I’m giving Rooter King this review. I was quoted $600-$1000 for a water line repair on a rental unit based on the fact that they weren’t sure what they’d run into when they started digging in the ground. I worked from home on the days they did the digging and asked everyone involved, even the foreman and the owner of the business, to knock on my door if they found an issue because I wanted to physically see why the cost would rise above $600. While the work was being done, I asked over and over again how everything was going and if they had run into issues. I was told each time that everything was going as planned. They got about ¾ of the way through the job in the first two days and then dropped off for the next two weeks (all the while leaving their bobcat parked in my neighbor’s yard and leaving me questioning if my uncovered pipes would freeze). I kept having to call them for updates on when they would be finished and was always given an excuse as to why they hadn’t called or come back. Three weeks after the job began, they finally finished the remaining ¼ of work and then took another 2 weeks to send me the $1,000 bill. As you can imagine, I was shocked to get a bill for the top end of the quote, given that they didn’t tell me they ran into issues. When I asked Max (owner) to explain the charges, they said they ran into a bunch of roots which slowed their progress. I asked Max why I wasn’t informed during the digging and he said they weren’t obligated to tell me issues every step of the way. I reminded Max of our agreement to keep me posted and that I worked from home during the digging, to which he again stated that he doesn’t require his crew to notify homeowners of the progress. Over the next two weeks, Max and I had multiple short conversations, and each time, the story changed. Instead of roots causing the extra work, it was the water connection at the meter and in the house (which is completely separate from his first excuse). When I said that I would pay him $800 (because the work was completed), he retorted and said that he would accept $900 cash only so he could keep it off the books. I'm not even allowed to pay for this project on a credit card because he doesn't want to pay taxes on this job. This is a dishonest company who is taking advantage of its clients. Stay away.
