The Eye Center team at the historic Grove Arcade in the center of downtown Asheville puts the "care" in eye care. They aren't satisfied until you're satisfied. Dr. Paul Endry sets the tone with his patient, attentive care that ensures satisfaction. His team worked diligently to ensure I had the best pair of glasses EVER. So light weight, sometimes I have to touch my face to be sure they're there. For follow-up I've deal mostly with Office Manager Jessika, but everyone who works there offers memorable smiles and kind service. Do yourself a favor. Let them use their expertise and up-to-date tools to do everything you need glasses to do. (Including looking great!)
Fun little store for tapestries, tie-dyes and cigarettes, too
This gem mine is great value entertainment. The owners spent more than an hour identifying the type and source of each stone for us. The card charts were free whereas other mines would normally charge for each one. The portions in the mining buckets were very generous. The owners were very accommodating and have already learned southern hospitality. We also very much enjoyed playing with Lyca.
We went today, and the owners were super friendly and helpful. they spend a lot of time telling us what we had and what mine the rocks came from. We had a great time!
We went to Maggie Valley on our vacation and the kids wanted to stop at the rock shop. Holly & Fred were awesome. The kids were having so much fun mining for gems that I got a bucket. We all learned a lot about rocks and found sooooo many cool rocks. These folks went out of their way to make sure we all had a good time. And you have to pet Jordy (the cat). He is on a leash in the front yard. This place was very cool when we were there, and we look forward to the improvements they are making. See you guys next year...This place was the highlight of our vacation. And they pointed us towards all the cool local stuff. They offer a discount for a good review but we give them two thumbs up without being paid!!!
Terrible experience. Both the doctors office next door and the Visionworks facility itself. Poor service, poor follow through. The receptionist at the doctors office is totally incompetent. I asked if I could come by to pick up my prescription, she said that they closed at 4:30, but she would leave my prescription with Visionworks side for me, I drove all the way there only to find that she hadn't done it, and the staff at Visionworks seemed disinterested in helping me. I had to come back the following day only to find that my insurance didn't work there, this is after I was told that it did and they wouldn't give my prescription until I paid the full amount for an exam. I would have never gotten the exam there if I hadn't been told by receptionist that my insurance was good there. The Visionworks side did the same thing, told me my insurance was good there, it's the reason I came there, only to be later told that no, my insurance wouldn't work there. I won't recommend either of them to anyone, and won't do any business with them ever again. I would give them 0 stars if I could, Go somewhere else to get your glasses/contacts.
Now under new ownership, Maggie Valley Gem Mine has been taken over by Rock-N-Roll Ink....And the Rock-N-Roll crew have something for you! We have changed the name of the rock shop to "Rockin’ Rock Shop, and we have added Photography on the Roll. What is up with all the changes? I am glad you asked...Rockin' Rock Shop offers a variety of gemstones, rocks, minerals, fossils, and some very unique jewelry (crafted from local artists). We also have other items available to accommodate a wide budget range. But, what is a Rockin' Rock Shop without something on the Roll?Presenting...Dut-da-da-da..."Photography on the Roll". It is photography gone mobile. We offer old time photos, glamour shots, group and event photography, wedding photography, and sooooo much more. Here in the mountains things don't always happen in a studio. With all the natural beauty around us, we knew that others would need our services wherever they may wander. So, at "Photography on the Roll" we went mobile. Yes, we have the saloon for the old time photos, and we went further, we built a real covered wagon for a charming covered wagon photo shot. We also have a parlor for our studio shots. However, here in the mountains, nature provides one of the best backdrops available. We have mobile rates low enough to photograph your group wherever you may roam. We have gone as far as Cades Cove, TN to photograph large groups (mileage charged over 20 miles). We are "On The Roll. to accommodate your group or special event! There truly is something for everyone at Maggie Valley Gem Mine, Rockin’ Rock Shop & Photography on the Roll
