Hey OWNER! Get staff with manners and common courtesy!!!It has been a dream of mine to see this grand house as I am a huge fan of architecture. When I finally arrived here and found out it was $50 a person, I felt it was worth the cost even if our trip only allowed a few hours for the stop before needing to continue on our way. It was very cold and after getting off the shuttle to see the house, I hurried up the steps and was greeted by the rudest lady. She scolded me for running up the steps and stepping over a chain when all I wanted to do is speak to a worker to find out how to get in the house. She talked down to me like I was a child and said I would bust my face like I don't know how to balance at 38 years old. Her rude attitude didn't stop there. She saw I had children with me who were freezing and showed no concern but continued to patronize me asking me if I paid for my entry or if I thought I was getting in for free. (of course I had tickets -duh) Her rudeness completely spoiled my mood, made me feel unwanted, and ruined my visit. Nobody wants to travel hours, pay high entry fee to be treated like you are not welcome. I would have left after my encounter with her and tried to get a refund if it wasn't such a rare opportunity me being in town to see this home. The house isn't that cool when it is full of jerks.
Our go to restaurant when we are craving bar-b-que. Staff is always friendly and attentive. They also do take out.
Cool atmosphere! Unfortunately they were out of the food we wanted. The beer was good. I had a cider with ginger.
I have eaten there two times and I will not ever go back. I had a brisket sandwich that was all bread with a little portion of dried up brisket crumbs.
I was here for lunch with three co-workers (first time eating here for all of us); and, we all Loved our meals. I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it and a side of fries; and, I topped it with the Eastern BBQ sauce. Wonderful tasting pork, and not dry or fatty. The fries were excellent...I do not like "raw" fries, and these were perfect. Service was prompt. We were out of there in an hour, and that includes the time we sat with a signed check on the table just gabbing; so, it was not an hour of order-eat-check please time. A co-worker ordered the brisket sandwich, and she raved; and another raved over the mac and cheese side he had...we were all commenting on the good food as we left the place. I give it four stars only because I wish for less mayo in the slaw, and a vinegar slaw would be great. I will be bringing my family here.
Chef Lars, You're an idiot! I've been coming to Asheville TRH for several years now, and have never had a less than EXCELLENT meal. I build custom homes and I would never write a bad review about another builder. My dad always said, " If you don't have something good to say about another, best to say nothing at all ". Mac the Builder
The place is devoid of any pretensions. The food is the centerpiece here. Love personally the baby back ribs - perfectly done. Yummy! The beer is very cold too.
It is okay,I do not see all the hype food ok and atmosphere ok
We ate there and my husband ordered the ribs......He is a rib lover...He said they were the most awful ribs he ever tasted....Burnt tasting. The manager asked him how it was.He told her and she commented thats funny everyone loves our ribs.We eat out approx. four times a week.......We definitely will not go back.....
