I came to Asheville on vacation for a long weekend and used J&J cab numerous times. Every driver that I had was friendly and reliable. They were prompt and courteous and gave us great restaurant and bar recommendations. The drivers went out of their way to provide excellent customer service. Will definitely call J&J Cab next time I am in town!

I waited OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF for my cab! When I called to find out if the taxi was even coming, they tell me it's going to be another 30 minutes, meaning I would have waited over 2 hours by the time they got to me. Then when I told the guy on the phone that I didn't appreciate their service he hung up on me. I canceled and called another company and they sent a taxi right away. Don't waste your time with this rude, unprofessional business!!
I had a 7AM flight at AVL. They arrived on time and were very professional. The price was fair and the driver helpful with my bags.

We used Elite for our daughter's wedding in Asheville on Sept. 5, 2015. We were delighted with their service. They met our 3-P expectations: prompt, polite and professional. I spoke with John several times. He was most helpful and followed our written agenda to the letter. Their driver was very accommodating and helped to make this day truly special for the happy couple. Yesterday, my roommate dropped me off at the airport road Wal*mart to do some shopping. I wasn't aware of how much time had passed when I wrapped it up in the end. It turned out to be 12 hours later. Naturally my roommate was concerned and almost call the police to file a missing person's report. I called and told him I was stii at walmart. He was concerned, not sure if he was also mad. Neither here nor there. I called Checker Cab to hire a driver. I informed dispatch of my buggy quantity and asked if they could send a driver with a caravan. The said it was not a problem This was about 1am. 7 minutes later, the driver called, as courtesy, to identify herself (I did that during pizza delivery days for Domino's Pizza many moons ago). She told me her name was Moon. Later I remarked the last I heard that as name was for Frank Zappa's kid. Moon assisted me in loading my groceries and nonfood merchandise into the caravan. Moon was very sociable the whole time. Prior to Moon's arrival, she said how long before her arrival, which was going to be 20 minutes, and damn if she wasn't right on the money. I was impressed with that and the initial courtesy call from Moon. During the ride, we conversated about cars and their repair records. Eventually the talk turned to the military, as I had mentally noted to myself what she had been wearing. Her outfit was a faded army uniform. Due to the lighting, I couldn't decide if it was woodland or desert cammoflage. I am an Army Veteran myself. Come to find out. her family is filled with military vets. Once we departed I-40 west at exit 44, her GPS was guiding her in one direction and I said she could turn in either direction to get to my destination. Once there, Moon backed into my driveway and assisted me in unloading my grocery bags. Moon didn't mind helping to carry them into my home. Having established a repore with her on the way, I didn't mind either. She was a a cat person just like me, so I showed off me two feline "children" to her. She she appreciated my doing that and said they were adorable. In the end, I settled up my bill and gave her a five dollar tip for her courtesy and her friendly attitude the whole trip. Moon was deserving of the tip I gave her for going above and beyond in her Before leaving I asked that she thank her family for their service, from one veteran to many others. Moon is truly a good person. If any future Checker Cab clients want a reliable and courteous driver, ask for Moon. I highly recommend her.
Have used this service from the Asheville airport. Very polite drivers, clean cabs and friendly service. Recently had Derek as a driver and he was extremely courteous.
I left my coat in the cab and they refused to give it back. Will never use these guys again.
Do NOT use this company!!! We got married in Asheville on June 7th and paid for a school bus to take guests to and from the wedding, and also for a Rolls Royce for me and my husband's send-off car. A week before the wedding, we needed to simply change the order of pick-up hotels taking guests to the wedding...it was like pulling teeth trying to get hold of someone that could help us out. Multiple emails and back-and-forth calls. We had to ask for written confirmation when we finally talked with someone on the phone (who was very short during the whole conversation). Well low and behold, the new pick-up order we discussed and had written confirmation of was not followed on the wedding day! Very annoying but luckily no guests were left behind. The Rolls Royce was a surprise to me from my husband, so I was looking forward to seeing what the car would be all night. The car was supposed to be there at 10:30. Waiting...waiting...we did the send-off walk 3 times! We tried calling Elite but no answer. We had the school bus driver (taking guests back to hotel) wait with us in case we had to just take the bus. He finally got a hold of the Rolls Royce driver who was 'on the way'. By now it was 10:50, and he wouldn't say where 'on the way' was exactly. At 11pm my husband and I said F*** IT! and just rolled out in the school bus. The only star will be toward the bus driver, who was very nice and apologetic about the situation, he was clearly embarrassed for this company. He probably was never even given the updated hotel pick up schedule.When we emailed the next day to ask for our money back, the owner said the car had broken down and that's why it didn't come (then why was it 'on the way' the whole time?) He said he would refund for the car, but offered ZERO apology. Such a big moment for a wedding and he could not care less. No one called to give us an update or offer a substitute car, and the fact that no apology was given was COMPLETELY unacceptable. Don't let your event or wedding be ruined over this horrible company!
