MKU of Ashburn has been a great place for my son. My son is having a great time in this school in Miss.Ingrid's class. Entire staff is very friendly and always ready to help. There is so much communication between staff and parents. The Director of this school is very friendly and is always ready to listen to parents. Owner of the school is very much involve in school and she is always trying to provide the best. I am very happy and I am glad I choose MKU of Ashburn for my child.
Our son started at AV Kindercare about two years ago. From the time we took the tour we knew this was the place for our son. Ms Nicole and Ms Kelly do a great job of creating a fun environment where my son looks forward to coming to each day. When we had our second son the transition to daycare was easy because of our familiarity with the teachers and management staff. I would definitely recommend Ashburn Village Kindercare
Some daycare centers have about 75 - 85% things going for it but usually one or two major concerning issues. The KinderCare at Ashburn Village has 100% going for it! The staff, the leadership, the programs, the building, the location - and they're open on really bad snow days! This place is worth every penny and my kids feel safe and nurtured (and loved here)
Before our first child was born, my husband and I did a lot of research on childcare options in Ashburn. My husband works in assisted living for Seniors, so although it is the complete opposite end of the age spectrum, there are many similarities with regards to regulations/management/etc. He narrowed it down to a couple of places and we visited all of them together. I was immediately impressed with the management and teachers at Kindercare, Ashburn Village. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We both new this was the right place for our child.We now have two children at Kindercare, Ashburn Village! There is no doubt the management and teachers are passionate about what they do and truly care about each and every child. It's like dropping your child off with family everyday.
Our 5 year old daughter has attended KinderCare in Ashburn Village since she was 6 weeks old. The staff and management at this center are fantastic. We checked several other centers closer to home but we ended up selecting this location since it seemed a lot cleaner than the competition. We have not regretted our decision to enroll our daughter here. The staff are very professional, our daughter is very happy and is doing very well with her reading.
We really struggled to find a daycare that was willing to be flexible with us at first, because we only wanted to do part time. They were so accommodating, and we love the teachers and directors. We drive by 3 or 4 other providers to take our son there. From 6 months old all the way through full day kindergarten they have been awesome!!!
We switched to Ashburn Village KinderCare about 4 1/2 years ago from another daycare center. My older daughter felt at home as soon as she walked in for our tour - greeting people like she knew them and waving at all of the staff. The leadership here is top notch - Nicole and Kelley hire staff who truly care about the kids and treat each other like family. Not only are they well loved, but my children are learning as part of the regular curriculum.
WARNING!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN TO MINNIELAND OF ASH BRIAR OR ANY MINNIELAND!!!!!Back in the day, 2008, 2009, 2010, even some of 2011…this school was great. It had a Director who ran a very tight ship and was very parent/child oriented. Unfortunately, that Director later moved on and was terminated for being unprofessional while a parent was listening – oops! I guess she was good at her job, but her love for the parents and children was all a façade, as the parents unfortunately heard on the other line. In any case, this school and Minnieland as an organization has gone completely downhill. There are literally “teeny boppers” running this school, there is ZERO security, hardly anyone ever at the front desk, gaggles of staffers at the front gossiping about what happened this past weekend, “teachers” leaving kids on buses because the kid fell asleep, “teachers” wearing nose rings and eyebrow rings, “teachers” who have had ZERO to little experience with babies working in the infant room, a lack of cleanliness and hygiene, zero confidentiality when sending an email to the “director” (who is SO not qualified to do her job) and the “assistant director” (again, not close to being qualified), as they share your email with the staff because they’re all friends. They gossip about the kids and the parents and have nothing but hate for you and your children. When bringing up these issues to Minnieland Corporate, they did nothing but protect the unprofessional staff and let me and my child walk away after five years of being at the school – five years! You will receive NO email updates, you will receive NO invoices, you will have NO parent/teacher communication, you will pay out the wazoo for “curriculum” that you have no idea what it is, you will pay more as your child gets older for a “degreed” teacher, which means a teacher with one Associates-level class under her belt, and when you complain about it, Minnieland Corporate will say “we’re working on a replacement.” You will pay more for an online tool that you will NEVER receive a link to. You will deal with teachers who shove Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s, and Easter down your kids’ throat for more than half a year and teach them VERY little in the way of education or music or foreign language or social studies or math – things that you PAY for. Again, do NOT take your children here. It is a complete sham of a daycare and, in my opinion, should not at all be considered accredited. Many parents have pulled their children from this “school”, as their kids were not ready for Kindergarten and had learned very little. This school, back in the day, used to be at max capacity with a long waiting list. It’s now at approximately 80% capacity, if that. The competition in this area is large, so don’t waste your time. Don’t endanger your children with “teachers” who are obviously not professional, not parent and child oriented, and will leave your kid on a bus who fell asleep on the way home from a field trip. Don’t trust these people to watch over your children, as they honestly have no idea where your kid is or if your kid even showed up for the day, if he left for the day, who knows? There’s no sign in sheet, sign out sheet, zero biometrics or pins to sign your child in and out for the day. There’s a pin on the door, and half the time, the door is left open to let the UPS guy or the food truck guy in. They rarely check the ID of a friend or grandparent visiting your child, which I have talked to them on numerous occasions about. IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE SAFE, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO MINNIELAND!!!
On May 22, 2013, the owner of Ashburn Childrens Center, Philip Adams, made his employees and students' parents aware of his intent to close the school on June 1, 2013, giving only 10 days for parents to look for new childcare and teachers for new work. The owner included no apology for the closure or the last minute notice, and treated the news of the closure as an afterthought in his email message. Philip Adams, said that he could not negotiate a favorable lease agreement with the building's landlord and preferred to close rather than raise tuition rates. I certainly would understand if he felt he preferred o close the center, but giving only 10 days notice is completely unprofessional and unethical in my opinion when so many working parents depend on the service that this center was providing. Now there is an excess of parents scrambling to secure spots for their children in the other centers in Ashburn. I doubt that there will be enough capacity at the other centers combined to fill the need that Philip Adams has created with this closure. Plus, now many parents will be forced to place their children in other childcare settings as a necessity, and not because they feel comfortable with who is taking care of their children. Also, many children will be moved from one child care setting to the next until parents are able to make permanent and satisfactory arrangements for the care of their children. Philip Adams also notified parents of his intent to reopen the school in another facility which he has not found yet, date TBD. I want to make this unprofessional situation created by this unreliable business owner available to other parents who may be looking for care for their children in years to come. If Philip Adams feels that it is an acceptable action to close this center with almost no advance notice this time, what's to stop him from doing the same thing the next time he has a dispute or conflict with his new landlord? Here is the email he sent to parents on May 22:Dear Ashburn Children's Parents:Can you help us?After much back and forth about rising costs of food,buses, equipment and our desire not to charge parents higher tuitions to cover these cost (not to mention Staff Salary increases and health care this year) with our landlord of fifteen great years at ACC, they are not willing to change anything to support us..........so, we need your help in finding a new Ashburn center, in an already constructed building, zoning includes school as a use...where we would really like to be is in a church basement. We would be an asset to the church and the rent would be about 100k per year to the church.Our Gainesville parents found us just such a situation for our new Gainesville Day School, maybe we will be lucky in Ashburn too!Actually, a parent found us our new Purcellville Day School site as well....So, please contact me directly if you can help us at the Gmail below or 703 346 3146 directly.We expect some of our great staff will move to work at Purcellville as soon as it opens..In any case, we must close our doors at this building next Friday.There is only one National Chain I can reccomend: MiniSkool.......Great Ceo who really cares , Doug McKie a friend.
