AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! If I could give ZERO stars I would.I contracted with them early February 2018. April 24 they called and said they are all set to do the install and needed check for supplies so they could install that Friday. Even sent Hans, an employee, to my house to pick up check. Week passed & no install. After many unreturned phone calls & emails, I found out they had not done structural inspect, and they hadn't even applied for ANY of the permits. They took my money & were never planning on doing the install. Straight out lied & deceived. This company apparently was decent once years ago, but something really stinks there now. All I get are more delays, more empty promises e.g., "your supplies are on the next shipment", "your job is top priority and the next to be done", and countless times I was told they would contact me tomorrow, and weeks went by w/o any communication until I initiated it only to get more BS. Recently I told them I am canceling contract & want my deposits back or I would be taking legal actions. A full week later Michael Geaneas got back to me. Stated he was in the middle "restructuring the company" and had no access to refund my deposits but would in four weeks. I've heard of other folks w similar stories recently. I am done w these shysters. Do not believe them. Liars & deceivers.
I cannot recommend Independent Solar Solutions of Ashburn, Virginia for residential solar system installation. Independent Solar Solutions was unable to complete the contracted work at my home after 7 months of waiting (from August 2017 to March 2018). At that point, the company was still unable to tell me when or if the backup battery included in the contract would be shipped/installed. In March 2018, Independent Solar Solutions agreed to my proposed solution to modify the contract to cover only the partial work completed, and agreed to refund me the difference between what I had already paid and the cost of the work that was completed. Despite repeated, written promises by their Chief Operating Officer Michael Geaneas from March through May 7, 2018 that my refund check, for the agreed-upon amount, was on the way, would be mailed "tomorrow," would be sent via UPS with a tracking number, etc.,I never got the refund. No one at Independent Solar Solutions has returned my emails, mail, Facebook, or website inquiries since then. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a home improvement contractor.
