Inflated Bills, Nasty Personnel

Go to Lee-Lex if money is no object and you’re willing to pay whatever they ask (forget about the estimate - it means nothing). We took our car to Lee-Lex because it was close by, even though the estimate was a bit higher than another station – we figured we would pay the extra for the convenience. The estimate was $1,750. Imagine my surprise when the bill was $2,200! That is more than 25% over the estimate! When I objected, they tried to say that they had given me a higher estimate than the $1,750 – didn’t they think I would remember what the estimate was?! Then, they argued that it was OK to increase the bill by 10% without contacting me. Well, 10% would have made the bill $1,925, not $2,200. Finally, they agreed to take off $120 from the bill – of course this still caused the bill to be $250 over the estimate provided. As they tried to adjust the bill (which seemed like it took forever), they yelled at me that I was taking $$ out of their pockets (gee, what were they doing to me), and that I was lying about the estimate they had given. DO NOT go to Lee-Lex.
