Its really a nice little layout from a curbseye view. You drive up, get out of your vehicle, and smell the down home smell of smoked hickory in the air. You think, wow this is going to be something special! Then you walk in as a first timer. The interior layout is shear pandemonium. No one is there to greet you. No, you have to guess where the order counter is, then move through partitioned barriers that remind you of Disney Land, or the barriers put in place at a Six Flags ride. In front of you are people you think are in line, but discover after 5 minutes they're just standing there waiting for their specialty order to be prepared. Until one of them turns, realizing you are not part of their group, and asks,"Are you waiting to place your order?" Then, yells at the lady behind the counter, "I think these folks need to get past us to place their order!" The lady then motions us forward to take our order. She asks us what we would like, but because the afore mentioned crowd was standing in front of us, the posted menue was impossible to see. My wife is up first, She is rapidly looking over the menu, trying to decide. The lady behind the counter rolls her eyes, and loudly sighs impatiently, then looks at me. I stare back... no emotion. The wife decides her fare, and orders 1/2 lb chicken, baked beans and slaw. Then my turn. I order the baked potato, 1/2 lb of pork ribs (To the count of 3 ribs total) and a sausage which becomes forgotten as the order is completed, and charged. I remind her, she turns, grabs the sausage, and thows it on my plate. The total, with medium drinks comes to over $32.00! Way over priced. We then seat ouselves, but not without being nearly knocked down by staff rushing around, paying little head, or respect for the clientel. The food itself was tasty enough. But if you're looking for a great BBQ joint liken to what you may find in Stephenville, or at the lower end, Dickey's, or Spring Creek here locally, this place is definately not in the running. We will not be going there again.
Took the family here for dinner on a holiday weekend, only because all the other restaurants around it had a 30 minute wait. Hardly any cars in the parking lot should've been my first clue I wasn't going to enjoy this meal. Although the meat was very juicy, it tasted like they used their gasoline at the pumps to cook it. $30 for three people to eat sandwiches with sides and drinks being extra! I'll recommend that people avoid this place
I was hung up on when I asked a question about services that I was seeking. Whats that about. I'd be fired on the spot if I did that to one of my customers.
