I completely agree with the previous reviewer. I first visited this kennel in April, 2010 and the stench and filth nearly made me vomit. Apparently, nothing has changed in more than three years. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE. It is completely disgusting. I wish that there was a way to shut this place down.

Being new to the area, I have spent many hours looking for a safe clean professional place to board my family pet if the need should arise. I have seen a wide mixture of facilities. But in all my 65 years of having loving dogs and pet services---I have NEVER been as disguised as I was today when I went to this facility. The horrific smell as we walked in should have made me go no further. The man was very pleasant and did agree to show us around. The floors looked as if they had never been washed with "caked on" filth everywhere. We passed the area where the food was prepared which was equally as dirty and full of empty dirty bowls and opened cans everywhere. When we got to the little spaces that 4 or 5 dogs where in, there was as much filth on the doors, floors, and walls as everywhere else. One dog as jumping and banging himself against the door with his empty bowl under him. Another small older doxie was laying in a corner of her space shaking. Nothing in her room except the cold hard nasty dirty floor and an empty water bowl. Shaking and would not even respond to me. The man then had me look through a nasty dirty window to look at an outside concrete penned area that he said was where the dogs played outside. It was just as dirty and full of trash. He did say they have not used the outside area in a long time because it was cooler inside for the dogs. Not sure what he meant by "a long time". How does a business like this continue to operate? More important HOW can ANYONE leave their animal there and walk away. Their animal would be better to run the streets. The streets are truly cleaner. To say that "Ashville Doggie Pause Kennels" formally known as ""Arden TLC Doggie Pause Kennel" is a travesty, is truly an understatement. This place needs to be closed down.
