I've taken my car to Franklin's Service for years and they've always done a great job. Always reliable and friendly, even when they're busy. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
I also had a terrible experience at Franklins. I had leaky axle seals on my front axle. They didn't even take the tires off before they handed me a 1000+ estimate saying I also needed to replace my brake pads, drums, abs ring, and a laundry list of other things. I waited it out and took it to a trusted mechanic in my home town, turns out only my axle seals needed replacing. Be very wary of these mechanics.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE to Franklin Service Center Arcata. They are dishonest, disrespectful, everything bad you don't want in a mechanic. They tried to charge me thousands of dollars replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced. THANK GOD I got a second opinion. (Another shop fixed my problem for $350 when Franklin Service Center wanted over $1500). They had me bring my vehicle in 3 seperate times, and never worked on my vehicle, saying they needed to reschedule. They didn't care at all that they were costing me time and money by making me bring my vehicle in when they didn't even work on it. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED. WORST MECHANIC IVE EVER DEALT WITH
They laughed at me when they said my car did not pass smog.. They would say that for 132 bucks wee can tell you whats wrong... Two days later.. my car passed elsewhere, with nothing more then supreme gas and the engine being at PROPER RUNNING TEMP!
