Second time he's come out to repair a unit still running from 1987 (in a year and a half). Dependable, professional, efficient and knowledgeable!

After my downstairs package unit went kaput, my home warranty company recommended upstate mechanical and repair, and I am very happy they did. Robert worked with me to get a brand new Lennox at very little cost to me. The process was very easy and straightforward, and there were no hidden costs and fees. In fact, the unit installation ended up being cheaper than originally estimated.

Called home warranty and they sent Ken out to look at our unit. He came on Monday at lunch time to look at it and said it was blower motor he would have to order it. 4 days later I called to see what was taking him so long and they said there was no part number on it so they didn't know what to order. Called back few days later and he was on vacation and still hadn't ordered the motor I called someone else out to look at it and they had it fixed in a few hours. so don't use these people they will screw you over. He did reimburse my $65 service fee since he didn't know what he was doing. I would not recommend these people to my worst enemy.

I noticed my central A/C wasn't cooling and I called my Home Warranty company. They told me Upstate Mechanical would be servicing my unit and Ken got in touch with me right away. He came out next day and quickly assessed that the Evaporator Coil was so old that it was "gone". Because he had to order a special size for my house, he charged the Freon so that I would have some cooling until the part came. While there, he did a further inspection and discovered a bad electrical wire going to my Condenser and replaced that as well. His crew was courteous and took their muddy boots off when they needed to come in the house to check the thermostat. Everything was replaced and working soon and I felt they went "above and beyond" when they discovered the bad wire.

Home warranty company referred me to this outfit. They supposedly were sent the work order early Friday. Didn't hear anything all day so I called later and got voice mail. Left a message but never heard a word. Called again late Monday morning. Voice mail. Called the warranty company to see what was going on. They called Upstate and supposedly spoke to Ken, who told them I was on his schedule for the week. Really?? Why couldn't he call me?! I chose to use another company. Sometimes you just get a feeling about someone and this didn't begin well.

The single most unprofessional experience I've had with anyone working on my house or vehicle. Didn't call back when promised, didn't arrive when promised, complained while on location. If your home warranty company suggests this company, ask for another one. Don't put yourself through the headache.

As a HVAC Tech myself I know that a 5 year warranty is only good for 5 yrs no matter if it's registered by the home owner or not the manufacturing date is in the serial number no matter what the circumstance the replacement parts are not under any warranty.

I used this company only because they were authorized with my home warranty company. They installed a Payne air conditioning unit in 2009 stating it had a 10 year warranty. I asked the owner Ken Cauley to supply me with the warranty information and he stated that it was all taken care of with the company. My motor went out 5 years later. Payne the air conditioner company stated that Upstate Mechanical failed to register the unit with Payne and an unregistered unit only had a 5 year warranty. Upon calling Mr Cauley he basically washed his hands of it and when I reminded him that I asked about the warranty information twice, he more or less called me a liar. I would be very hesitant about using this company. They are not very professional. They don't mind taking your money but they will not stand behind their work or admit their mistakes.
