This was my first time at this particular salon and most likely be my last. I had been looking for one for a while and, due to its proximity and a couple of positive reviews, I thought I would give it a shot. I took in pictures with me to explain to the stylist the type of color I wanted as well as the style of haircut. She did not ask many questions (which I thought was unusual) and went to work. That made me a little nervous, but I figured it was a fairly easy request, she was a professional, and with pictures, how could my request be misinterpreted? I will start with the positives. My hair cut is cute and she did a good job styling it. It looks healthy. What I did not like was the color. She missed the mark on the color - it was nothing like the picture or what we discussed. She asked me if I wanted a specific shade and I said yes. What I ended up with was no where near that shade. I was very specific about what I wanted (you learn from experience that without a picture your explanation and the stylist's interpretation can be two different things). So, it was not a horrible experience or a horrible cut. I just felt that she did not listen to what I wanted or pay attention to the pictures I brought in. Further, now I am going to have to spend more time and money to get the color to what I want. Speaking of money. I thought the cost of the color was reasonable ($90), however, I was charged for not 1, not 2, but 3 extra color mixings ($45 worth) that she used. I would understand it if my hair was extremely long, but my hair is barely shoulder-length. So, I almost feel as though either she is not experienced enough to estimate how much color to mix or it was purposely done to pad the total cost. I was hoping for and expecting more from a salon like this. I, honestly, could have gone to a Great Clips for a $15 or so haircut and just did the color myself and would have been happier with the results.

Mae saved me! When I walked in, out of the blue, with hair that looked like I'd stuck my finger in a light socket .... zap, FRIZZ .... all due to an over-priced, TERRIBLE perm, she cut, styled and literally SAVED my hair and my pride! I have very thin, very fine hair and I thought I was going to have to just wait and watch it all break off til I was left with nothing. The woman who did it was going to refuse a reimbursement of the nearly $150 charge without even seeing what she'd done, too! I mentioned two magic words: "Courtroom" and "Judge" and viola! I got my money back from Damselfly in Homer, AK and took myself to the ladies at Divine Appointments. I know why they call it DIVINE now ... they all three, but especially Mae (May?), are inspirational! They gave me back my faith in hairdressers and gave me back a nice hairdo, without any frizz and with style, too! GOD BLESS THEM! Will refer EVERYONE I know to these fabulous ladies!
I been in alaska for 5 years and i been trying diferent places in town to cut my hair because i cant find that person that do it perfect, either they cut it too much, it doesn't acomodate the way is suppost to or they wet the hair and cut the tips and thats it!.... then i found "HAIR GONE WILD"... i've been there twice, the second visit i asked for the first girl that cut my hair but she couldn't do it... anyways, both times i loved it and i'll keep going (in fact i am going tomorrow), i felt very confortable, we talked and laughed... nice people.... i dont know about hair cuts, i just go for what i like, i think most of people do, but it seems to look beautifull and healthier for a longer time than usually it would (i do the flat iron a lot), it seems to grow faster too... maybe i like their job so much and it is just my idea... i dont know! i totally recomend it! This specific location is usually really great. Unfortunately if you call before the hours of operation there is no 21st century piece of machinery robotic voice that automatically answers explaining to me things like store address hours of operation or any other tid bit of info, I the customer might need when calling before you are actually open. You would think that great clips being such a large chain would have this marvolous piece of equipment most like to call ananswering machine on some sort of a server but maybe this location is privately owned and the owner is too cheap to invest. Either way... Wake up great clips on Dimond, join the rest of us in the age of technology and make live easier but who am I kidding? Like you are really going to read this online review or even know that it is here... You don't even have an answering machine!
These guys have fantastic tattoo artists if you're into realistic renderings! If you want to try an unusual piercing, one of the people there did a cartilage piercing for me in a place they'd never seen before. They gave very good aftercare instructions and I've been happy with the piercings for 4 years now. I've been going to this place for 5 years now for various things. They will never try to push you into making snap decisions about a piercing or a tatoo and will take the time to make sure your questions are satisfactorily answered. Recently, I was in the middle of getting a custom backpiece done when I started to feel sick, but my artist knew exactly what to do to help my nausea go away... I was extremely happy with the end result of the tattoo as well, done based off of a photograph. I will be back for more! :)
I had made an apt with Lorraine to get a cut, oil treatment, style and wax. My apt was originally at 9:30 and she was running late, so I ended up rescheduling, and when I got there I waited 20 mins past my apt time, she said I had a 70's haircut, bc it was cut straight across and she ended up giving me layers, which I told her when I sat down that I didn't want them, and after my brow wax, it normally gets red and goes away within an hour or two, but this time there was a dried up blood spot underneath my eyebrow, and it was red and bumpy for almost 3 days after my apt. This has never happened to me, I will not be going back!
Trying to make an appointment for a Saturday is next to impossible - But they are open sundays too. Very happy with everyone there. I've been to 4 different stylists for my color and have always been impressed. Its sometimes hard to make a same day appointment for color, even though they have like 15 hair stylists. Prices are acceptable (though sometimes a little high, I think.. average for me is around $150 for cut and highlights). The front desk people are very helpful, especially the guy (i think he's the manager too). Oh, and they seem to only hire really pretty people (the guy is pretty cute too!).
Joy does such a beautiful job of cutting and coloring my hair. I always get compliments on how beautiful my hair looks and I have long hair. She is such an expert when it comes to color. She does my friends hair coloring and my daughter's coloring with highlights and lowlights. Their hair just comes out beautiful. It's always so shiny and healthy looking. I won't let anybody else touch my hair. I have been going to Joy for years and have always had a beautiful cut and color. I can't imagine you not being happy with her services.
I have been going to Compliments for about a year now. I found them through a Google search, and decided to give them a try since it was in a convenient location for me. I made an appointment with the woman who answered the phone. I was pleased with her work, so I have specifically requested her every time I have made an appointment since then. She listened to what I wanted, and fixed issues that I had after the first haircut. My hair is extremely thick
the food is very pricey & all comes ala cart. Its decent food but not food I would like to pay $38 for a 10oz steak alone or $14 for a side of strawberries and blueberries for one for desert. Pretty busywhen we went and they obviously did not have enough staff for the evening so food was very slow coming and i waied 35 minutes to get my side of dressing for my salad. Dont go unless you're sure it isnt busy &you just wanna blow money on decent food.
