Dr Geitz is an evil, evil man. When my daughter was born we were told she had hip dysplasia and were referred to this evil man. On our very first appt. with Dr. Evil, he forcefully popped my daughters hips out of the sockets then put them back. Then proceeded to tell me that they slipped right out of the sockets as my baby is screaming in pain. Dr. Evil then put her in this horrible harness and told us she had to stay in it 24/7. We took our baby home and her crying was nonstop so I called him and asked what to do..his response was if you take her out of the harness you are a horrible mother. This went on for 5 months with a weekly visit to Dr. Evil to forcefully pop her hips out. At the 5 month mark he said she needed major hip surgery. I freaked out and contacted family who got me into contact with the Shriners. They said there was NOTHING wrong with our baby's hips AND the harness he had her in was 3 sizes to small!!! I was a young first time mom and didn't even think about a second opinion. I later got my chart from Dr. Evil and the notes said that my daughter was a crybaby and that I was a whiner. He should NOT be allowed to practice. His bedside manner is horrible, he has absolutely no empathy for his patients or the parents and he is just an all around evil person. If I could rate him with negative stars I would!
Upon referral from local Kenai Orthopedic Dr, we went to Anchorage to see Geitz... he jumped to the conclusion that immediate surgery was needed... made no eye contact with us at all, and had no patients for his 7 yr old patient... his office manager had issues helping us to arrange transportation... (we have medicaid, and it's the "physicians responsibility" to set it up)and when I tried discussing this, he said that I was putting my needs and comfort in front of my daughters need for a (now he says) "non-emergent" elective surgery... we have a car but my husband needs to get to work and we have 2 other kids for headstart and daycare... flying would have been easier... but it was too much work and not thier "responsibility" to make 1 phone call to confirm her appt/surgery with the 800 # for medicaid...
