I went to Chez Ritz to get a manicure/pedicure recently. I have to say it was the worst mani/pedi I have EVER received. Their express pedi is $45 and basically you are paying $45 for a polish change. No lotion, no massage, nothing. The manicure I must say was horrendous and was a whopping $35. The girl did no nail bed maintenance. She didn't even push my cuticles back. She didn't even put a top coat of nail polish on so my polish started chipping the next day! Her hair was long and in her face so whenever she was painting my nails her hair would stick to the polish and mess it up even more! I can't believe I had to spend $75 on something I will have to redo myself. I could have done it BETTER myself for free. Chez Ritz??? NO THANK YOU.

I started going here for the Aveda products when I moved to Anchorage 3 yrs ago. I had a junior stylist cut my curly hair and it was fine. She recommended one of the 2 aestheticians, Natasha, to do my brazilian waxes-- said she was efficient and got it done quick.
Pros: Natasha was all of that and more. She did quick work, a good result, and made me feel at home. Always done in about 10 minutes. She is also co-owner of the salon... She recommended Amber to cut my curly hair. Amber did a great job, but didn't make me feel as welcome or at all like she appreciated my business or wanted to do my hair.
Cons: Street parking only. Arrogant front desk staff that like gate keepers to the kingdom. I was 5 min. late several times and unless i specifically said to ask natasha if it was ok, they would tell me i had to reschedule. for 5 minutes?!
I quit going when I was 5 minutes late due to being unable to find a parking spot-- for the second time-- and the front desk told me that I had to reschedule, ""Amber said so."" When all I want is a spa like atmosphere and I'm willing to pay over $200 for an hour of it... I'm not willing to put up with this headache.

Rhea did my facial, which was incredibly relaxing and effective. My skin looked great afterwards. The Aveda facial includes a massage of the shoulders, arms and fingers (!) and nice soothing music, aromatherapy (smelled wonderful and natural), and candles. She also has a *great* touch. They have good Aveda products in different sizes, including a travel size. I did walk away with about $40 in products after her recommendations... but you don't have to. ;)
Michelle has done haircuts for my husband and me, and both look great -- a bit edgy, hip, neat. We'll stick with her!
I would like to try their massages now. This is great to have in town as an occasional treat!

Great experience. I just moved to the area and know to trust Aveda salons and Chez Ritz lived up to my expectations. The atmosphere is really open and airy and clean. I loved my haircut and color that Jenn did. I will surely be reccomending her to everyone. I have gotten a lot of compliments on my new do.

I think i was the only client in there! It was my first pedicure ever and it was pretty good! I would definitly go back. The parking situation is pretty crappy (street meter parking only) but the woman who did my service was friendly and nice. It was $55 for a spa pedicure that included a soak, buff, clip, massage & polish, which I think is pretty average price! Happy client :)

I had my spa pedicure and express medicure there. I think that place was big rip off. I had my french nails and it did not come out great. express medicure was bad choice because it is without polish! It was not worth. Well I think Spa pedicure is allright but she did not paint french nails good. It is way too expenisve than other places. I guess they are trying to impress but their skill is not that Great. I guess they used beautiful people to work with.
