Dr. Pedigo's assistant was rude to everyone waiting to be seen! Snapping at children and adults... I waited over an hour past my appointment time and then he rushed me through my visit, neglecting to mention an eye condition I have. I finally got my glasses, and the prescription he gave me is painful for my eyes. I left a message at his office and his staff just never called me back. What a waste of money! If you've ever had eye strain headaches, you'll understand what a horrible disappointment this company is!

WARNING!!! They use annoying robocalls ** you will never get the calls to stop. I left this company because the calls got to be a daily nuisance for over 2 years. Also, the calls have continued years after I quit seeing them. Also I have noticed that other people are having the same problem with them. Services were not very good and the price is almost 2 times higher than other eye care companies in Anchorage.
These people should not be classed as "eye care professionals".The company used to work in the Sears Mall and that is where they belong.Doctors and staff are rude, stupid and for the past 3 years I have asked that they stop calling me as I want nothing to do with them and WARNING!!! you will never get the calls to stop and the texts will continue forever. If they get your name, phone number, cell number or e-mail you will never get rid of the constant harassment from them. I am now forced to pursue a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau since the formal written complaint did not work. Even though I received a written letter back with an apology assuring me that it would stop.Of course it did not stop. WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!!! The only good reviews on here about them is written by the staff, relatives and close friends.Check the BBB you will see multiple cases of unhappy customers and mad customers.
Makar Eyecare is a great place my last visit was great. The doctors are always very thorough. The optical has a huge selection of frames and the opticians are very helpful. They offer the best lens features. My recent purchase I got this new lens feature that cuts blue light. It really helps with the computer. It has reduced my headaches I am so pleased two thumbs up to Makar Eyecare
Dr. Eberle has been my eye care doctor for 2 years, she knows my optical insurance and what is covered. I had an exam late last year and she stated I would need cataract surgery. After the surgery she stated I needed to come to her for post surgery exams. I went twice and was charged $400 a piece for each 15 minute exam. She charged my medical insurance which she knew she was not a preferred provider for this so the claim was not paid because the non-preferred provider deductible is very high. Had she been fair with me she should have allowed me to have the post exams at the surgery provider's office and my medical insurance would have paid the charges. But she was not upfront and honest with me therefore I will no longer trust her. I suggest you watch her practices.
Unethical behavior. Be careful, she is not in any insurance network, but she and her staff will twist the truth and make it seem as though they are. She tries to market standard procedures covered by insurance at other eye-care providers as "cutting edge" and will attempt to bill you for them. She will also bill standard contact lens follow-ups as "medical" (she gets more $ and you pay a lot more). She is not able to diagnose basic eye problems (in my case mild allergies). Dr. Eberle and staff are unable to do basic business operations (schedule/cancel appointments, submit prescriptions to pharmacy/optician, send correct and timely bills, etc... Mistakes are fine every now and then, everyone makes them, but she and her staff make A LOT and, on top of it, lie about it. She is very reluctant to give you your glasses/contacts prescription and tries to twist your arm into purchasing through her at higher cost. Again definitely unethical behavior, probably borderline illegal.
This man never seemed to really listen to what I was telling him about my painful eye condition. In fact, he left me with the distinct impression that he thought my concerns irrelevant. He finished with a cheerful assurance that everything was under control, despite the fact that he could not explain the cause of the recurring pain. The eye continued to deteriorate under his treatment and I ended up being treated in a hospital emergency room two days later. They got me in touch with a real opthalmologist's office, where the problem was quickly diagnosed and immediate and effective treatment and pain control measures provided--thank God. I am sorry to have to say that I would NOT recommend going to this man if there is any possibility that you have a serious eye problem.
My entire family has been going there for over 30 years. Great staff, wonderful Doctor, and fast, courteous service.
Very courteous and friendly. On time and helpful. Great service and attitude as well. Do and will continue to recommend to others.
I was treated with compassion and within a few minutes was alleviated from the pain of an injury I sustained. I'm very grateful for the help they gave me. They really care here.
