Overall

Well I read the review that one posted and opinion is very different. I have been to Dr. sahai for man years. There have been times that I have come in for shots which he always does himself and has done an exam with no charge. We have had several issues with our cats and dogs and we have always had great care. Dr. Sahai was there on a Saturday at 6 in the morrning to check on my cat because he was worried he wouldn't make it through the night. I appreciated that so much. We have to remember that vet care is not cheap any of them, but I want the best care and he gives it. Even if the treatment doesnt help or work it is not the vets fault sometimes your animal just has issues that cant be helped. He has always taken time to explain everything and if I call I am put on hold for a minute with an answer right away. People that are going to complain about cost should not own any pets because they do cost money.. All I can say is if u are complaining about vet cost don't own a pet because no vet will be good enough. There are new people but you have to be patient so they can train and do their job well . I have referred several people to him and no one has complained. My advice seek a new vet and I bet you will still be unhappy thats a shame for your pet.

My family has used Cottage Pet...

My family has used Cottage Pet Hospital for the last 30 years. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. The staff and doctors are extremely caring and knowledgable. They truly understand that they are working with one of your family members. They have cared for all of my dogs and cats. Thank you Cottage Pet Hospital.... Our family loves you!

Dog owner

Dr. Sahai doesn't take the time to explain details with the pet's owner. He basically comes in & goes out within minutes for your pet's visit. He doesn't seem to show the care & sincerity like other vets. It's like if you don't ask questions, he doesn't share with you the info. My family took our pets for simple vacinations & he seems to be in a rush all the time. Feels like he doesn't have the time to go over things with you or care for your pet. Always ask for examination fees if he is took look into what's the problem with your dog. He will not touch your pet other than regular vacinations and exam requests made by the owner. That means money for exams before your dog is being cared for by the doctor. Also not a very caring staffs. They seem lost at most times and the procedure are sometimes slow. Usually long waiting hours. They definitely need to improve on staffing and quality care for pets. This place seems to run on money issues, instead of quality care & time for both pets and their owners. We will need to find a better vet care for our family pets.

We wish to reply to this comment/review, not only in our defense, but to defend all doctors and staff of animal hospitals. It is very common in many practices for a technichian to give vaccines...without asking for a physical exam, your pet may never see the vet. Here at our hospital, our doctor is very hands on and has chosen to give the vaccinations himself. In defense of all vets, it is very common for a person to think that just because the vet has seen your pet in the past, that he can tell you why your pet is scratching or what kind of lump or bump your pet has, with out ever doing a physical exam or diagnostic testing. Often people ask, "Is it cancer?" the only way to know is to biopsy. Though some people think this means "they just want money" it really means that even the best doctor relys on expert diagnosics to deliver a diagnosis. After all, doctors are people like you and me, they do not have x-ray vision, or the magic healing touch. This is why there are labs to analize blood and and tissue samples. Our job is to offer the best options to properly care for your pet. Another small note, we have been training new staff members because good help is sometimes hard to find! We ask for patience and understanding, as everyone has been in the postion of being new to a job and we try very hard to train them well! For the fastest service please call for an appointment, and understand that though we go by appointment Monday through Friday, Saterday is walk in and it is first come first serve. As always, we will take emergencies and priorities as needed. It is unfortunate that the above person who has complained feels that they are entitled to something for nothing. I believe I know who this person is and it is sad that this person thinks that the doctors time and services are not worth paying for. This person says they don't want an exam, but then the want him to tell them why their pet is itching, or send home medication without knowing why. It's just not good medicine!

Excellent Service

I take both of my dogs here for vaccinations and surgery. The employees here give excellent service and always are professional (even when the customers are irate and rude). They even send postcard reminders for upcoming vaccinations and examinations. The facility is clean and sanitary. The best part is that their prices are reasonable as well. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else.
