I am restoring a 1987 BMW convertible. The prior owner broke the rear view mirror and then glued a new one on in the wrong place. Therefore, I needed someone to scrape off the old glue and remove the old bracket and take out that glue as well. This was a small job. I called around and each of the auto glass people said that they would need to hammer it off and would likely break the window so I should just buy a new windshield. The cost for doing that ranged between 200-400$! My interior guy referred me to John at Specialists Mobile Service Auto Glass. John has a little tent and a van outside a car repair shop. The area was a bit sketchy. When I pulled up, John came out and looked the car over. He then came back with a razor blade and within a minute got all the old cement off. Then, he took a butane lighter and got the old mount off. Next, he told me that the rear view mirror I bought was the wrong size and he had an old BMW rear view mirror that would work. He charged me $20. Then he replaced my wiper blades. Total cost-55$ and it took 15 minutes. Great find and an honest guy.
