I haven't tried too many things on the menu here, mostly just the tacos. But they are some gourmet tacos--not your ordinary hard shell hamburger meat tacos! They have a yummy sauce with some grilled meats inside. My husband loves Rubios and it's his go-to whenever he is hungry. The downside is that to me they seem a little pricey. Also very messy to eat.
Costa vida has foods similar to cafe rio like the sweet barbacoa pork salad and burrito (enchilada style of course!), but they are always coming out with new menu items that are worth trying. I also liked that they had different sizes you could get if you didn't want the huge full meal. Good central location close to lots of shopping.
I've been to several Bajio locations, and loved all of them. It's one of my favorite places to eat! The food is served like it is at Subway, you order what you want at the first "window", then watch as they prepare it right in front of you, while you tell them exactly what you want on it. There are 4 choices of meat, 3 or 4 different beans, rices, etc, and you can dictate exactly what you want. The portions are BIG, the food is fresh and made in front of you, the atmosphere is casual, and the prices are decent. What's not to love?! I think it's muy bueno! Give it a try!
