Our operators are continually trained on the proper way to tow and transport within our ever changing industry.         My teenager had an accident on 400 this past week during 5 o'clock traffic. His car was about totaled. My son called us and my wife went down to meet him because I was sick. By the time she arrived from Cumming the police office had already called United Towing and the vehicle, a 1995 Honda Accord was already on the tow truck. She asked where the vehicle would be brought, he said it was up to her but he recommended Cumming Auto Collision. She then said she has towing coverage with her insurance AND AAA he told her "Maam, the vehicle is already loaded on the truck" so off it went. When we went to pick up the car on Tuesday we were presented with a bill for $406.25 !!!!!!!! which was ONLY THE TOWING FEE! This was only a 15 mile tow. This is nothing short of highway robbery. I don't know who is getting a kickback from this i.e Alpharetta police or Collision places but this is ridiculous! and yes my teenager is having to pay this ridiculous charge out of his college fund.
