Fort Smith-Alma RV Park
IN BUSINESS
Check in was awful as the manager wanted to argue with me about whether or not I "needed" 50 amp service. He never smiled, thanked us for coming, welcomed us...absolutely nothing. The sites are the narrowest sites we've ever seen. If an RV is in the site next to you, you won't be able to open your awning. Not to mention they are in poor condition...not at all what I would expect from a KOA. There are no grills (not that there would be room to put one...it would have to be on the gravel of your site), piles of debris throughout the campground, branches hanging....overall there is no love shown to this place.
However, this a.m. was the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to me in any hospitality situation in my entire life. It was so bad, it made me cry for a long time afterwards. I work out in a pool every morning for health reasons. The pool was one of the most important reasons why we chose this RV park in the first place. When I got down to the pool area, it was locked, so I went into the office and asked very nicely if they could please open it early today. First, the woman manager wrinkled up her face as if I had sprayed her with pepper spray. Clearly, she found my request to be very painful. However, she called her son, and asked if she could open it early. He told her he would need to come and check it first. After nearly a half an hour in which I never saw him do anything just stomp around looking angry, he told me I could go in. However, this is what he said first: "This pool never looks like this, but I don't have time to do MY WORK because my mother told me to open it FOR YOU!" I said, "Please, finish your work. I don't want to be a hassle to you." And he said, "The boss told me to open it, so I have to. And that means later when I get to do my work, it's going to be a big pain in the a## and take a he## of a lot more time. So GET IN!"
I did. Into my car. And, sobbing from that nasty treatment, I returned to my RV.

Provided by CitysearchMy husband and I have been members of Koa for around 15 yrs and have been to many of the campgrounds nation wide.
When we first drove into the park in Alma,AR.I thought it was very nice and a typical Koa campground. We were both appreciative of the location not far off the freeway and easy to find.
However, when I went into the office in my cheerful and friendly way, I was greeted by a very SOUR PUSS old lady who had the manners and social graces of a ally cat. I would not stay at this park EVER ,based soley on her RUDE and uptight attitute. If you want buisiness you have to treat your customers nicely! This woman was just rude and should probably find somthing else to do at her park because she has NO Public Relations skills at all.
I give this park a 1 being the lowest score. I would recomend passing it by on the freeway, unless you are really tired and have no other option.
