Overall, Binder Automotive was a waste of time. I took my car here because it has a parasitic electrical drain. When I called initially by phone and explained my problem, the desk receptionist (an old woman named MJ) told me that they charge $130.89. That’s a lot more than the $60-$90 that most other places charge. I asked her if this was for every single hour of work or if it was a flat rate. MJ said it was flat rate because the shop did not charge beyond the 1st hour of diagnosis, even if it took longer. I felt that was very reasonable, so I took my car there. After waiting for 2 hours, the shop owner, Troy Binder, told me he narrowed down the problem. However, he said he did not finish the diagnosis and I would have to return next week, pay another $130.89, and have the diagnosis finished then. When I heard this, I was ticked off because I had not been given a clear explanation regarding pricing and he was not able to finish the final hour of labor. I paid for the 2 hours they did and left the shop. I spoke with my father about this matter and needless to say, he was pissed. He told me to contact Troy and demand an explanation as to what was going on. I contacted Troy, explained the situation, and demanded clarification regarding pricing. He basically said the pricing is not flat rate like the receptionist told me, promised to speak to the receptionist about being clear with pricing, and gave me a full refund so that I could go somewhere else to finish the job. He said he hoped that I could get the job done for a reasonable price at a different shop. When I asked him what part is possibly malfunctioning (so that the 2 hours he did does not have to be repeated), he said he couldn’t tell me because it was against his business principles. What the hell? First he says he hopes I get it done for a reasonable price and then he can’t even say two words so I know what part it is? Do yourself a favor and find another shop. These clowns at binder are an embarrassment to auto mechanics. It’s a shame. If Troy had his head screwed on the right way, I would not mind going to him for repairs, since it looks like he knows what he is doing, from a repair perspective. But if a guy runs a business that is not straight with its customers and plays games with people (like he did with not telling me the part), then I can’t rely on him for anything.
Steve and Park Manor Automotive are the best of the best!!!!!!!!Imagine a car full of presents, 1 kid, 2 cats, 2 gerbils and 2 adults breaking down at 4:45pm on New Year’s Eve. The only place around (and serendipitously very close) was Park Manor Automotive…and they’re ‘Open’ sign was still lit. We limped in, my husband ran inside, and out came Steve only to tell us that our engine was shot and, given the holiday, nothing could be done for a couple of days. We were worried.Steve, even though he had plans, went into the office and he and another gentleman started calling local car rental places…all of which were closed. He finally found us a car…at the airport. A friend of his happened to stop in to wish him a Happy New Year, found out what was happening, and offered to drive my husband to the airport, wait for him while he picked up the car, and then show him the way back. In the meantime, Steve kept the gaggle of us girls (cats and gerbils included) company, making sure we felt safe and secure. Once my husband got back with the rental car, Steve offered one of his cars for us to put our cats in while we transferred everything from one car to another…and both he and his friend helped with the transfer. He then had us follow him to a safe, pet-friendly hotel before finally being able to go on to his New Year’s plans for the evening…his reason? “People come first.”Steve called first thing Friday morning and his first words were, “Did you get home safely; are you ok?” He also bent over backwards to get the best parts he could in the quickest time…he even texted a picture of the brand new engine poised over the open hood of my car telling me all was on track and ready to go. We weren’t able to pick up the car (being 3 hours away) during their operating hours…so Steve called the morning after my husband picked up the car to make sure, once again, that all was well.I have never written such a lengthy review (much less many reviews)…but the quality of care that we received from Steve is beyond superb. I would drive the 6 hours round-trip just to have him take care of my car again! He is honest, trustworthy and goes beyond the extra mile to take care of his customers and we could NOT have been luckier to land on his doorstep New Year’s Eve.Thanks Steve…YOU’RE THE BEST!!!
We are from Syracuse NY, and we went on a mini vacation to Atlantic City, on our way home we had car trouble.. My friends fiancé thought it was the hub assembly.. We were stranded without the AAA option.. Called a bunch of places for rates, they killed all the competition with that! Get there and the lady running the show was a gem, an absolute gem! She gave us a loaner car to use.. 15 min later called us and told us it was only the lug nuts that were loose! Could of totally lied to us and took out money! Some people still have a heart- I would recommend thisPlace hands down for the Allenstown PA and surrounding areas! Thank you so very much for taking such great care of us!
My wife has been going to this shop since before we met. She was a single mother at the time and told me that they always treated her with respect and always tried to work within her budget. I decided to give them a try when it seemed that my engine was in big trouble, they found that my old mechanic had put the wrong oil in the engine, I was skepical, but they changed the oil and the vehicle has run fine since. These guys always call and let you know what you options are and what costs will be. I would have no trouble recommending them to anyone
Trust these guys with your heart and soul. Clean, courteous, super nice, and super friendly. I dare not insult them by writing how fair their services are and how certain that you can be that they are never ripping you off. They checked two vehicles for a pre-purchase inspection for me, recommended a vehicle, and fixed the minor issues that I have had with the vehicle every time without charging me a penny. These guys are awesome.
I call east coast towing when my car turn off on the Side of the highway and the owner Told me 25 minutes and and he send one of hes driver before 25 minutes when i told hem i was i the side of the highway with my family this company is fast and professionalThank you very much East Coast i recommend them to any body thanks thanks
I went here to get the seats to my motorcycle reupholstered. I initially was quoted $175 to do both seats and pick up the next day, but after he found out I am in the military lowered to $125. Seats look great and he even cleaned the bottom up. My Pops recommended them to me, and I'll recommend to my friends.
This is a VERY honest old school business. The owner 'Rob' treats you with respect and not a means of ripping you off. I have used them many times for my cars and have never had a problem. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
