Expect to pay 2-3 times the cost as most other vets. Expect to wait hours in the waiting room. Expect to deal will some (not all) rude front desk personal. If it’s an emergency and the Allen Park VCA is your only option, then go there…. Otherwise I would avoid at all cost$$$$$.
This place is the absolute best. They have a great and friendly staff. I had a Winter White Dwarf Hamster that needed a nail clipping. They did a great job. The secretary was very friendly and kind and the vet was great. They were all truly amazing and I would recommend this Animal Hospital to anyone. Go there! It's a smart move!!!!!!
I would say go judge for yourself, but I didn't like the atmosphere it wasn't friendly, quick service, and they also tried to push for more than I was looking to get done. I don't mind them making me aware of what I need, but don't be pushy with it. I won't be going back there because of my experience plus I found a animal hospital I absolutely love for my pet everyone is friendly, and the service there is much better.
These people are so nice and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I went there when my cat chewed on some toxic plants. I was so freaked out and everyone from the front desk to the tech to the doctor was calm, professional and informative. I was clueless about how potent some plants can be and they not only educated me on this but I left with so much information so that I could informa my husband and kids. We are grateful for VCA ALLEN PARK!!! We still have our baby girl, Patticakes. The money was well spent for saving her life!!!!
I love this place! The boarding facility is sweet! It is soooo clean too! They let me tour the hospital before I booked by boarding appt and I was amazed that it did not smell - at all! The staff was so friendly. I had so many questions to asked and they were so patient with me (because I was nervous and never boarded my dog before). When I went to pick up my dog, he was so happy and clean smelling - that I would totally recommend this place to anyone!

Please DO NOT take your pet here! I saw an employee of the VCA Animal Hospital hitting a dog repeatedly outside the facility after hours. The poor dog's leg was wrapped and he/she had a cone around his/her head, so I'm not sure what the dog could have possibly done, not that hitting a dog is EVER justified to me. I had been in contact with the animal hospital, and they said they took action but wouldn't tell me what action. I still saw the vehicle the employee was putting the dog in at the facility long after the incident, so it doesn't seem she was fired. I was extremely upset for days after the incident and still get very upset when I think of it. A person who treats animals like that should never be working in an animal hospital, and her pets should have been taken from her. If you love your pets, please do not take them to VCA!

Absolutely TERRIBLE!!! Do NOT take your pet here! From the very beginning the staff was rude. I took in my Chihuahua because she had ate chocolate and i brought the wrapper with me. When i showed it to the vet the receptionist laughed like my pets health was a joke. it only got worse from there. The first thing the vet sad (Indian) was that he was not worried if it was milk chocolate. Then why did he go on to give me an estimate of $698!!! He kept forcing me to sign the estimate agreeing to the cost. He was a complete gold digger and took advantage of the fact that it was an emergency. When i picked up my dog she had charcoal hanging from her mouth, she was unconscious, and she smelled like feces. They don't care about your pet, they just want your money.
I feel with this economy, It's not the time to Up sell. That business need to be fair with there prices and they will in turn have loyal customers. I would like to recommend an excellent vet that sells there meds for half of what VCA Allen Park does. It's well worth the drive to see Dr. Dasher @ Belleville Animal Hospital. You can tell she loves her job and is there for the animals, Not the Money. I made the mistake of taking my dog to VCA because it's walking distances from my house and it's late hours. In hindsight i Should have waited till morning and made appointment with our vet. I was told i needed a $50- medication to treat my dogs ear infection. I used it for two weeks twice a day and Hunter (our dog ) seen no improvement. Took Hunter back to The Belleville vet, received a $22- medication and now Hunters ears look great! So Please do yourself a favor and save some money ! Go to a small independent vet that's there for the love of animals and not a chain clinic there to make the bucks.

Tried this vet when I relocated to Ann Arbor based on a friend's positive experience there. Wish I could say the same. Very expensive (over $300 for simple lab work and vaccines), the vet tech was inexperienced and kept trying to suggestively sell tests, she made my cat more nervous and stressed out. The vet I saw turned out to be a relief vet, so when they called with results, it was a different person so we had to start from square one which was frustrating. At my previous vet, a similar visit would run about $180, and they were much more skilled at handling my nervous kitty. Do not even want to follow-up there.
