I came here on vacation back with my friend I was never much of a beer drinker until I came here. The bartender asked me what kind of flavors I liked and found me a very good tasting cider beer that I loved! I am now A fan of beer! anyplace I go I look out for a good cider beer and I am happy she had me try it! The atmosphere here was sooooo much fun!

This is a great Irish Bar and they cater to both the locals and the tourists. They have the musicians come in in Kilts that play bagpipes and entertain the crowd as well. This is a very fun place to go with large groups of people, we have always found the staff to be very accommodating to our needs.

First off, I gotta say they have an amazing happy hour at Murphy's. All of the appetizers are half price, and their appetizers are good too. Guinness was just a bit above $3 for happy hour I believe. My wife and I went here on the 4th of July before the firework show. Service was great here as it usually is.
We went to visit my Brother In law and Sister in law in Va. They took us out to Murphy's and Pat Carroll was there singing, I don't think I have ever laughed so much in my life. I am not one to usually get into joining in on stuff, with in 20 min he had all of us singing and clapping along. Along with a very friendly wait staff, the night couldn't have been any better. Next visit we have to Va we will definitely be going to Murphy's for a night.

Overall, I LOVED the happy hour-- half-price drafts (and they had a solid selection), half-price appetizers, and we went on a Tuesday that did great half-priced burgers. I had the veggie burger and it was amazing (I'm not a vegetarian), and my friend seemed to enjoy his burger plenty.

Met my friend and her dad her for a quick brunch on a Sunday around 11am. We all enjoyed the brunch specials for $9.95 consisting of Belgium Waffles, Crab Benedict, and Ham n Cheese Quiche. All very good though I asked for crisp bacon and got blackened char strips of pig.

On Monday night, we were concerned that there wouldn't be much to do. Once we walked in we found out we were wrong. There was not a lot of people there but as other yelpers have declared, there is an amazing Irish singer Pat Carroll. He does get everyone involved and if you can find someone who is Irish then grab them for a jig. With a bounty of beer and Jameson you can't go wrong. You will be singing and laughing the whole night through.

I thought the homage to police and firefighters on the bar pretty touching and the rest of the decor was typical pub themed All and all I really enjoyed my stop in here and, if I lived in Alexandria (which if you haven't already figured out...I do not), I would definitely make this place a regular hang out spot :)
