My girlfriend and I have trich (compulsive hair pulling) and have both been bald periodically throughout our lives. My mom left me $10,000 when she died a few months ago. $2000 of that was supposed to be meant to buy a nice wig for my girlfriend and myself. We wanted human hair so we could feel and look like normal girls. AND we were perfectly able to pay for two human hair wigs.

Anyway, I have blue hair and my girlfriend has red. We're a little more 'punk' looking than your average wig shopper.

While I was in ABQ we went to WIGS WIGS WIGS with $2000 to try to buy two human hair wigs.

As soon as we were in there the woman was following us like a hawk. She was obviously afraid we were there to just try things on, mess things up, or even steal something. It was VERY clear she was uncomfortable with us shopping in her store.

I then asked to see the human hair wigs. The lady said, "You know those are really expensive right?" and I said, "yeah... I know." Then she said, "Well are you going through any treatments?" (neither of us are bald now, but we're about to be. We looked healthy at this point) and I replied with, "No. But I've been bald several times" and she continued to press me about why I was bald and If I just want to wear the wigs "for the fun of it"

She went on to basically say that my girlfriend and I know nothing about wigs, or our hair. That we shouldn't look for human wigs given "our situation" (She obviously didn't know about the $2,000 in my pocket)

After a long time of feeling incredibly discriminated against we just left. I left feeling embarrassed, ashamed, even more ashamed that I have to wear a wig and can't keep my own hair. It was a TERRIBLE experience. I wanted to just float away...

ANYWAY. I wouldn't shop here if you want people who respect their customers and their autonomy. I am an educated woman (I am getting my masters degree for Gods sake) who happens to have blue hair that is falling out. I deserved a wig, I deserved to feel beautiful, and I wanted help. They made me feel far worse than I ever would have been.

This place is so amazing! All the ladies who work There are very derstanding. Linda ,the owner, knew what would look good on me and she let me "play" for as long as I wanted with as many wigs. I don't know anything about wigs but Linda educated me as to the different types of wigs and styles. She even took me into a room where I could sit and try on the wigs in privacy. Linda was with me the whole time guiding me towards my final discussion. She gave me as much time as I need and even showered me how to pit.on the wig by myself and how to care for it. I will be going back Wigs Wigs Wigs for my next wig and for the hospitality I received.

Life's curve ball

I took my mother wig shopping yesterday because unfortunately she is losing her hair due to chemotherapy. Not an easy thing to accept for her along with all the other things she has to deal with. We chose Wigs, Wigs, Wigs on referral. The ladies in the shop were so helpful, concerned, and compassionate that they made it an enjoyable process. They are not only all those things but also well informed and talented in their craft. The selection was unbelievable as I did not expect wigs to be as nice as they are. Plenty of styles, cute fashionable styles, and colors. I highly recommend this store to all ladies out there going through this same traumatic event. God bless you.
