The Second Judicial District Court is a part of the State of New Mexico, which offers a range of administrative services. The Second Judicial District Court maintains domestic violence and jury divisions. It also operates a children's court division that handles matters pertaining to youths in the areas of adoption, delinquency, emancipation, marriage authorization, and child abuse and neglect. The court additionally has a civil division that looks after cases involving disputes between individuals, businesses, and state and local governments. It deals in various types of cases, such as tort, contract and real property rights. The court provides literacy and youth and family counseling programs. Its court monitor division is responsible for recording judicial proceedings.
